  i just started reading this book based on the recommendations of members.

  it is the best book i have read on the witnesses.. i do become confused about the strands of american protestantism that nurtured the witnesses.

  when i was young, i felt that russell miraculously came forward with the first correct interpretatin since apostolic times.

  He said what he said, jookbeard. He plainly said that the jewish lobby was controlling both American political parties.

  I quite frankly think that is nuts - but it may or may not affect his writings on the subject of the Witnesses.

  How will the NOOLITE on the Faithful and Discreet Slave affect the court case in Australia?

  last year, in the ongoing victoria, australia case, the watchtower lawyers stated in court that the "faithful and discreet slave" does not exist.

  it is merely a "theological arrangement".

  this was obviously an attempt to get those responsible at the top of the corporation "off the hook".. now the wtbts says explicitly that the fds are the same as the governing body of eight men in brooklyn.. does this mean that the australian courts can attempt to subpoena these eight men, as the charges are against (among others) the fds and the gb?.

  It probably means nothing legally - in the legal sense, any court would obviously see who is ruling the Watchtower World regardless of what silly names they give themselves.

  i would appreciate your help, please.. my son is approaching an age where he must ponder about going to university or not.

  i know that the elders in my congregation will put some pressure into him as to not take it.

  as a ms, i will also be put under pressure as to not give him any encouragement in that regards.
