Thanks for the good reading. I gleaned a lot of encouragement from it and some powerful insights.

Patterson is still headquarters for Audio/Video, which includes a lot of support departments. Other than that, of course, there is the missionary education (indoctrination) facilities and I believe several GB members already live there permanently.

There is the news they give to "all congregations in the United States" and then there is the news they announce at Bethel.
My Bethel source said that they announced 'downsizing' in no uncertain terms for the US Branch. -

"I used to work on a web offset press years ago and it took a bare minimum of 4, 2 to run the press, one to load the paper, and one or more to take the printed material off the end. How do they just do it with 2?"
From how I understood it, most of the "running of the press" is automated. I may be wrong, but that is just what I saw when I was there.

I can confirm - it only takes 2 persons to keep the new presses running. It is quite impressive when you see it with your own eyes.
ALSO - I have heard from unnamable sources that there was a further announcement last Monday about laying off... er excuse me, sending more Bethelites home.
About Wallkill and Brooklyn though, inner cities are quickly becoming much more in volved in infill development such as the Society's property in DUMBO. They have won this battle, but they will face further opposition in the decades to come. I believe this whole project is just a very shrewd real estate venture. Mark my words, they will eventually leave Brooklyn entirely. It seems that they have several phases of pulling out of Brooklyn:
1. Move printery process to Walkill with its associated personell.
2. Begin DUMBO project.
3. Sell off smaller properties around Columbia/Brooklyn Heights, etc.
4. Divide Brooklyn Personell into three parts: A) Send home the kids. B) Send working personell to Wallkill. C) Keep the retirees in Brooklyn in the Jay Street building until numbers go down, then pull out entirely. -

And the biggest WTBS oxymoron isÂ…
by zagor inin my opinion it is a current truth.
ive never heard of such term elsewhere.
the funny thing is you never really know when an old truth stops being current and becomes a new lie.. .

Supposedly God doesn't change, although he aparently changes his laws. WHICH IS A LITTLE CONFUSING IF I MAY SAY SO.

Is the Watchtower Society strong enough to win this war with the internet?
by jack w incould it be that the wts actually thinks it can win this war?
i mean, they are forcing sites to close down, suing the people that run them etc.
i wonder if this is the way they want to "handle" the internet problem.

Very interesting topic.
In answer to your question: NO. The Watchtower has already lost the war and they know it. They are cutting their losses. You can see it in how they reason with people. "If people have doubts, they must not be of our sort."
They are using the same tactic as the RIAA is in their war against music piracy. Unfortunately (for them) they lost it before it began. WIth all the pressure and guilt trips they give downloaders it just fuels the invention of new methods to get what they want. It is a NEW world, and some people/corporations/organizations cannot seem to deal with it. When the law has become obsolete (whether digital copyright law or Biblical interpretation) the law must change in order for authority to retain legitimacy. -

Do you have a "Confidante"?
by JH in.
do you have a person, thats very close to you that you can reveal almost anything, your joys pains, just about anything to?.
or, do you keep all your worries inside and deal with every emotion you have by yourself?.

I thought I did until I expressed my doubts to my wife. Now we have a 'don't ask, don't tell' policy about WT doctrine. I am a very private person so it is extra hard for me to open up....

"He claims the Society only hired this law firm to handle their real estate transactions. Somehow the term "lobbyist" doesn't even enter the picture. I asked him if his lawyer was a lobbyist. He didn't respond."
This entire process has nothing to do with a real estate transaction. If your WT apologist thinks zoning issues arn't political then (s)he has no idea what they are talking about.
