What is the most important thing to know?
by sleepy inif there was just one piece of information you could pass on to another what is the most important thing you can think of that a person should know?.
i would say "never stop learning".. also what subject gives the most enlightenment on life ?.
i would say physics as everything branches from there.

Stuff we wouldn't do offline that we do here
by joelbear in1. argue with a six year old.. ever had a deep discussion with a six year old (or someone with a three year old's mentality)?
ever heard two six year old's arguing?.
typically it turns to name calling and "i know you are but what am i" exchanges fairly rapidly.. would we walk up to a 6 year old or a mentally challenged adult and engage in one of these ridiculous, non-productive and demoralizing exchanges?.

A friend of mine has the following saying posted in his office;
"A Gentleman is Never Rude Unintentionally"

Have you read this book?
by Eyebrow inabout three years ago my future husband suggested i read a book by robert heilein called, job: a comedy of justice".
i reccommend this book to everyone and anyone that has been in any religion.
it is quite an amusing, but disturbing story about a minister that keeps being put into different lives.

I'm with you on Starship Troopers. Absolutely loved it as a teen. How could they have dared to make that into a movie without the suits? That was the key element in the story for me.

the greatest addman who ever lived......
by josephus ini have allways thought that the single greatest asset the jws have is the nickname "the truth".. trying to get through to our freinds and parents the sickening facts about "the truth", we are constantly stymied.
by the sentence "i still beleive its the truth".. this is the equialent of calling your law firm "the honest ones".
or your shop, "the best".. only better, much better.. jws mistake a concept, "truth" with "the truth".

I think it also shows that many elders consider calls from their "sheep" to be akin to those from telemarketers. Troublesome, cutting into their personal and family time, and generally annoying. I can envision elders chatting with oneanother about the heavy burden they bear with all those calls and questions, and finding something like this very amusing.
(Said with an exhasparated sigh); "Look, here are a few scriptures that should keep you quiet. Take two and call me in the morning if your attitude doesn't improve by then. Better still, don't call."

Some one broke in my house yesterday
by rhett inthere's this guy who i used to be friends with who thought that the only reason my kids loved me was because i rewarded them.
of course, i had to prove him wrong.
last friday i heard him talking to some people that he was going to break into my house and kill a few of my kids as well as trash the house.

I would think "Hello" much more appropriate than "Good-Bye" when someone makes the step of moving on into the real world. Remember, the very worst thing they can do to you simply frees you from their power.

Sounds like time to put the A-Team together, and for some of us to "just happen" to be there with you when the elders stop by. If you are within driving range of Providence, let me know.
