I appreciated MadTiger. If I can I want to start part of the process by the end of 08 as far as purchasing a small apartment complex +/- 50 units and adding value. I'll definitely remember your offer. If I can afford it maybe I can fly you out, take you snowboarding and get your advice on my biz plan.

Alot of it has to do with accreditation-meaning, if you wanted to transfer your classes to another college, they most likly woudnt except them comming from U of pheonix, where as if you went to an actual college, their classes would more likley transfer to another college. I have also heard employers dont value those online universitys as much as actual colleges. Just my 2 cents though.

Point noted. I'll do some investigation. Thanks for the advice.

i saw del castillo in kansas city about a year ago. easily one of the most amazing performances ever. met the guys after the show. genuine and amazing musicians.

Dom, does UOP still do the *life experience* accreditation? If so, I recommend you take advantage of it ... In the past you could get 12-15 credits from that process.
Congrats on making this decision and finding a supporter/mentor to help you cross the finish line.

I had no idea they did that. I'll have to look into it. I've got a little bit. Not too much but a little bit.

Instead I told him that it was one of my major goals. After he told me that I had the job he said that it was now his goal to help me realize mine. "Dominick, the reality is that jobs will come and go but an education is something that never leaves you. You tell me what I have to do to make sure you get your degree. Make me that promise." So I did.

I'm going to go to the University of Phoenix to get my Associates degree in Business Administration. Then to a top 50 school for business called Daniels University to finish my Bachelors. My company is paying for all of my tuition. I couldn't be happier. Ive done IT for 6 years and made some really good money. Its not satisfying to me anymore. So the goal is to buy apartment buildings refurbish them to high end buildings and place low income families in them. Low income housing has always sucked and always been a den for repeating the cycles that spawned their need in the first place. My goal is to take these families, place them on a 5 year plan to eliminate their debt, teach them about credit and help them into a situation where they can afford a house for their children. So I can make money by adding value and give back at the same time.

I am in the stages of approval for my courses. I can finish the AA in 18 months online full-time with no interruptions to my work schedule. This is a good day.

before i start this, i under no circumstance condone striking another human especially a woman except for in self defense.. with that stated i was bred to believe and still do that it is my responsibility to protect the women in my life.

i try to teach a measure of self defense to my sisters daughters and almost every girlfriend and female friend that i've ever had.

If someone attacks you, defend yourself. Don't waste time in discussions about chivalry. Let's unload chivalry and all that crap and just treat one another as humans. The person who gets to the door first opens it for the other person. The unencumbered person opens the door for the person with packages. People can open their own car doors unless their hands are full.

However, I'm a "country girl" too, and I've had to put up fences with my husband; pull up a well pump by a hand crank 130 feet from under the ground; hook up horse trailers; chop up fallen trees with a chainsaw; and break a horse by myself. When I was being raised I drove a combine for my grandfather; helped my Grandfather in the garden; and cleaned out a cess pit. I am definitely not what you would consider delicate. My husband respects me for that; I can still be a lady, but will do what I have to do to make this house/family run.

What we want is to be paid the same as a man doing the same job.

That I agree with. If the qualifications and experience are comparable I think there should be no component that places one person above another. Affirmative action or women's lib shouldn't stop that. If I were a boss, I'd just want the most qualified person
