You cannot UNSAY a cruel word
by simplesally init's amazing that people think when they are hurting or angry, that they can say anything they want.
and then the next day or week, they can say to you: oh i was just mad.
i was just venting.

That ruddy paper clip tab does not always work, often it takes an age to load, then you probaly just might get an error message.
Anyway, encourage posters to click on any picture to enlarge, though I'm not sure this is good advice since I have not seen your pictures yet. Anyway: Write your description in your post as normal, then hit return to get the cursor to show up upon the empty line below, as if you were starting a new sentence.
Now click on that ruddy paperclip!!
Click Browse on the next screen that comes up, import your pictures from where they are stored, I generally import them from the desktop one at a time, then for each picture, one at a time, click Upload picture, bear in mind that you can only use jpg or gif files. Once you have all your pictures on screen in front of you, click the tiny box in each one, and press Upload Attached Files, it's on the left.
Then, click Submit Post at the bottom as per usual and they should show, good ruddy luck.
From an exasperated Celtic, who's going to pull Simon hairs out of his leg at Englishman's bbq for utilising on the site such a dreadful tool.
All the best!!

Up in that olde country of merry england in the county of Devon across the border from the country of Cornwall they have a rather eccentric tradition stretching back a few or so centuries.
In essence not long after dusk in the town of Ottery St. Mary, all 17 pubs in the town sponsor a tar coated 30 kilogram barrel which is then lit, and hoisted onto the backs of the local 'boys' to run precariously through the town centre with the crowds cheering wildly on. It is thought that the practice in fact goes back to pagan times when such was done to ward off evil spirits and as a cleansing exercise.
More details and pictures are here: http://www.tarbarrels.co.uk

Backpacking and Travelling, New Friends and New Experiences
by Celtic inhow many of you balmpots have ever had the travelling bug before?
how close have you come to just simply dumping everything, donning your backpack and making off for new horizons?
perhaps you have already caught the travelling bug and already seen many exciting new places, new, strange to you cultures and experienced the life on the road, on a minimal budget.. can you tell us where you would like to go, where you have been and any stories about your travels?

Roll along October!! I'm off with my backpack to do 3 months of travelling or so, possibly Indonesia or Sri Lanka or similar though there is also an invitation to Brazil on the cards, handy knowing the daughter of a former cabinet member for the government there. After which I am planning still on coming over to the States. Buy myself an old banger of a vehicle, something big enough to sleep in, and driving from East coast to West coast in a somewhat zigzagging fashion, perhaps next time I write this post, in about the same time next year I can post pictures and have further tales to tell too. So far, I've only spent about 6 months travelling the Greek islands which were beautiful. Corfu, Paxos, Anti Paxos, Zante, the Pelloponese, Corinth, Athens, Delphi, Crete, Rhodes, Santorini and Naxos. I've also been to Spain hitch hiking around, starting from Madrid, then into the full bull fighting season to Toledo and Valencia and many small towns en route. Not much but enough to whet the appetite. Oh and Weston- Super-Mare up in deepest Somerset to see a madcap bunch of characters there, way, way, way up country.
Tally ho!!

Can you tell us where you would like to go, where you have been and any stories about your travels? Can you provide weblinks to inspire others here to get out of the ruts often in life we find ourselves in and create an inspiritory tale, storytell your experiences?
I guess I'm not looking for the posher holiday and/or vacation experiences, but the kind where you were not afraid to really experience something new and different from the general mould.
Storytell away now ....
