I have the ability to control minds by planting sublimital thoughts into words I say and write, although for the most part it would take a CIA computer months to catch on to the most basic thoughts as it works off a formula only known to a small group of monks in Eastern Asia who developed the method in the early half of the Chin dynasty.

Okay, so I do not believe in Jesus. Yet I do wonder about life on other planets and see that as much more likely. Why? Well there are species on this planet we have not yet found of insects, etc. Why then could it not be possible that in the whole universe, there is a million other species we never heard of. We are a tiny species, on a small sand pebble of a world in some far corner of space with millions of stars, that we can see, and millions of more stars we can not see. So why not? Seems more likely to me. What I have a hard time with, is whether or not to believe they have come to our planet or not. Maybe they spawned life here and rule in some unseen way. Maybe they are responsible for the legends of gods, or maybe they wonder if we exist as much as we wonder if they do, and do not have enough tech to get far enough to see us. I know I find things like SETI interesting, as it makes sense to listen for radio waves of alien life. I like movies like Independence Day and War of the Worlds, as I think we might want to rethink the excitement of meeting a species that is that much more advanced then us ... just ask the American Indians how they felt when those advanced Europeans showed up! Anyway, thinking about this, I have some fun questions.
1. How likely do you think it is that life exist away from this planet.
2. Do you believe they visit this world (the Greys, Roswell crash, Area 51, etc).
3. If they did make themselves known, what would the most important question be for you.
... just thought it would be an interesting topic with former Witnesses. Personally, for me the answer to number three would be, "do you believe in a higher being, aka god, and I would be interested to learn what they felt that beings name was?" Because after all, shouldn't it be Jehovah or Jesus? If not, the Bible has some explaining to do. I would laugh if they responded Zeus though.

If it is like most message boards, there is always a influx of new people and an exit of others who got what they wanted and left. Don't forget about those who leave angry predicting the end to the board, that is something I am sure is seen here too. If not, then it is not a normal message board. I like this place, although I am surprised how when I debated people and got stern, they called me a troll and told me to move no.
"I don't play nice with others!"

Christ and His second coming
by greendawn inall christian religions have always believed in the second coming of the christ, and if you also do, how do you imagine this second coming will be and how will it change the world?
.
what will be the fate of the jws when he returns given their grandiose, blasphemous claims about divine appointment and the way they abuse the dissenters?

I image he will ride in on a unicorn falled by faries and other myth based creatures, like himself and they will raise Atlantis and make peace throughout the world.

Do you think Apostate info (books, sites, etc) slow growth or speed exit? When I joined the religion, I didn't read Apostate information at all. Once I left, I read a ton. I don't even remember a desire to do so when I entered and yet I see comment on site from former Witnesses that people feel it might be slowing the growth of the religion. Which, with the age of the internet, may be true. Yet for the most part, books by Franz and sites like this, helped speed the exit ... but I jumped in without ever seeing them. What do you think?

If you think Live 8 = 'no possible action'... please explain to me how you personally would go (or have gone) about achieving more?
I can honestly say that I do not care enough about that part of the world to do anything. Maybe though I will do my part to change the world by listening to Pink Floyd the wall and send a donation to some warlord in Africa. Might change the world to a better place that way. What was there not to understand?
Did you read the links or do your honestly think my thought on false hope is the only one held in the whole world? Honestly here, what is so hard to understand about what I said. Going to try to explain in a more direct fashion, taking into consideration something you said. Man gets people together to have concert. Man says this is to promote help for starving African's and usage footage of such in presentation. Man does not mention that last attempt caused regimes of terror to gain more money and last longer in their terror. Man makes statement that, "my work is done!" Without ending the problem he claims to want to help. I said this is false hope! Yet who is it false hope too? Well to say that African's did not know about this, would not entirely be true. It did have a concert location in South Africa and I am sure cable is around in other countries of Africa. Not all of Africa is a wasteland of tribes, you would be surprised. They understand better then American though, what is wrong in their country and that these concert are not going to change anything. Recently on CNN.com there was a poll addressing what you felt the G8 summit should be most concerned with, and out of the four selections, Africa starvation was last! LAST!!!!!! Top was terrorism! You see, where is the hope Bob promised? Why didn't the world suddenly listen to his concert and put presure on world leaders to do something? Because Africa is a punch line in charity, with so much coruption made public over the years and these image of starving people are used as tools. Terrorism, that is real to people and something that hits home. Plus, we all remember Sudan (See black hawk down) and we do not want our troops to police and die to fix other people's problems anymore. Everyone knows, fix Africa = America fix Africa. So false hope, yes! I am open eyed to false hope now and as a former Witness, you should be too. If not, then send money to Africa and believe some African boy name Johnny is actually getting new shoes. Just not reality

Quotes of note about what Live Aid did in Africa
Showering money, trucks and food on Mengistu’s Ethiopia entrenched a vicious regime and aided one of the most cruel forced migrations in history. Ethiopia was never short of food.
Conventional wisdom was to dump the West’s surplus savings and produce on Africa, and then to wail when the continent was predictably corrupted. At a rough estimate some $500 billion was tipped into Africa over the past 40 years. Most observers maintain this contributed to political instability and a negative growth rate.
... there were many good points made and I felt the writter was saying what I said too. Sounds good and yes they mean well, but the hope is not the action of cure and in the end, the Problem with live on.
