(Ephesians 4:14) Instead, they adhere to the Bible's view.) Don't you love how they use the term Christians here and how "they" aren't carried hither and thither. Yup that describes them alright. Just the one doctrine/teaching about generation blows that out of the water.
From page 7 (What the Bible says: "Now that you have put away falsehood, speak truth each one of you with his neighbor." Our closest 'neighbors' are our family members. (Ephesians 4: 25) The Bible also says that we should "love truth," "speaking the truth in [our] heart." (Zechariah 8:19; Psalm 15:2) True, telling children that Santa (or the Christ child) is the bearer of presents at Christmas may seem to be innocent fun, but is it right or wise to deceive little children, even if one's intentions are not bad?) Do you not find it ironic that an occasion that is supposedly meant to honor Jesus becomes a time to deceive children ?
Don't you love the "a time to deceive children" bit. They aren't guilty of doing that are they?

The governing body are shepherded directly by Jesus and different ones of the faithful slave that have fallen asleep in death. This is different then the ones of the governing body who have fallen asleep in their weekly meetings. In line with the first will be last and the last will be first principle, they have even had shepherding calls from Jarazc. That is a hard name to spell. He should have changed it to Smith or something.

designs - what you mean "has" a priest? hahaha. Something that I have noticed with the gb and their org. is the patience that they seem to have when dealing with the "business" of what they do. The arrangement here discussed for example. Right after the Kingdom Ministry Schools have concluded. This will be a pilot program tested for 2 years in the United States. First off is armageddon imminent or not. Surely if these things are done under the direction of holy spirit it should not require a two-three year pilot program. It just shows that they themselves have no confidence in the imminence of armageddon, they just carry on business as usual. This is the one thing that I see as making them out to be totally aware of what they are doing, manipulative buggers. Many, including me, want to give them the pass on being evil men knowing full well that they are doing and teaching is false. The reasoning goes, I know that I was totally duped by my immersion into the cult, so they probably are too. But when you see this cold and hard calculating done with the business end of things you or I have to wonder if the same is not true of the "theocratic" end of things. {end of rant}

what does everybody think will be wt$ doctrine and belief in 10 or 20 years time?
i'm thinking mainly about advances in medicine and cloning, which were always looked upon as being a cut-off point.

interesting read - one big problem that I see is how do they deal with 144.000, the number. They can twist and turn the 1914 date with their goofy generation thingy, but how do you come up with a new explanation for the 144,000 number. Actually I personally understand their latest generation thingy as only a short extension for the time of the end. i don't see anywhere that they suggest the overlap as multiple overlapping. Just one overlap which still requires an overhaul if/when armageddon does not arrive soon. Besides for the majority that is what it is all about. Armageddon, paradise earth, all the troubles that at present are driving them all to pill popping taken care of. Remember the admonition not to live for a date but rather for the (whatever it is they are gonna do for the great name Jehovah) is something stated in the watchtower and not something that any adhere to. They all, each and everyone of them lives for the "date". I recently had an elder and buddy at my door. The elder admitted out loud that he did not get the generation thingy and the only thing he had to offer was the famous, where are we to go to and looking at the world conditions there just cannot be much time left. I personally believe the imminent paradise just ahead and the escape from the trialsome lives most of them live is the big hold and have to wonder how many will just tire from the waiting. I guess only time will tell.
