  so my mom was telling me that my aunt is going to be hosting a gb member and wife, cos and do for dinner after their dc this summer.

  i immediately blurt out, "that sounds stressful.

  " which is met with dead silence.

  even then it will be just be a sunday to see if the fall off come true, or not.. heck this year and next will probally just enough to make it look like i showed up for it.

  thankfully i live around the city it's held in i so it's not a huge sacrafice..

  are the feelings we have our own or are they being influenced by satan?.

  A lot of our emotion is based on stuff that has been indoctrinated into us by religious organisations, media, society etc....you should act/behave a certain way, you should feel this or that when you see / hear something....

  Then of course there is the chemical balances in your brain.

  i have changed my car and the sparlock bumper sticker has gone so i am making a window decal for the rear windscreen.. i have one more line of text available for this and it has been suggested i put something to indicate survival after the borg but i cannot think how to word it.. .

  right...so i was thinking that we need to shake up the kzn jw community .... because we can.

  i'd like to know if there are any ex jw and friends on here that would like to join my mum and i.. the next big convention is going to be held on the 6-8th of september at the sharks rugby stadium.

  we would like to organise 1) an undercover mission on the saturday - go into the assembly parking, maybe even hang around for an hour and then go about and put flyers on all the cars with regards to some biblical truths.

  Right...so I was thinking that we need to shake up the KZN JW community .... because we can. I'd like to know if there are any ex JW and friends on here that would like to join my mum and I.

  The next big convention is going to be held on the 6-8th of September at the Sharks Rugby Stadium. We would like to organise 1) an undercover mission on the Saturday - go into the assembly parking, maybe even hang around for an hour and then go about and put flyers on all the cars with regards to some biblical truths. 2) on the Sunday morning protest on the verge in Jacko Jackson Drive as people come into the parking. We're getting our 144 001 and 144 002 shirts printed, placards printed and will find out what paperwork needs to be filled in.

  Why won't JWs have "civilized" debates with home owners?

  it seems kind of crazy to go to someone's house touting your religion as truth and then not even defend your own beliefs.

  why do jws stop the chat if someone just tries to calmly reason/debate with them?

  i'm not talking about crazy preachers who start slamming bibles and yelling about how they need jesus or something.

  ....to the realization that no higher authority can be your guide. Only you, the individual, can make decisions and properly guide your own life".

  My father has written on the sideline: Since Christ is no-one but yourself. Chris means Widom, light, spirit, god. Glory within oneself. IN lightenment in IN yourself. God/Sprit is what light is. You , the master, is oneself.

  2 pages and I'm in agreement. I enjoy coming across books that bring out gems of wisdom.

  You think you are going to gain something extremely important. Religious and mystical teachings are filled with spiritual mysteries that need solving. And solving mysteris is something everyone likes to do. Indeed, mystery is a real drawing power of all forms of mysticims.

  People who go into the spiritual on a deep level do so because they are seeking honesty, enlightenment and fairness. Tey desire a world were honesty prevails, where fairness and compassion are the rules. They are seekin an ideal way to live and deal with others.

  but, what they do not realise is that the ultimate wisdom and enlightenment they seek is an illution. For, what the dedicated student of religion eventually discovers is that the core of religion is deception. Those few dedicated students who reach this breaktrhough either leave in disgust or are made teachers and spiritual leaders themselves in order to perpetuate the hoas. They rationalize that the people, the masses need the guidance and morality provided by religious doctrine".

  ....so starts the book I'm reading. I so agree with the above, this reasonates very much with me. I left religions behind in disgust. I do not need to follow anyone or anything. I know that all they offer is deception and illusions.
