by oldlightnewshite ini thought it would be an interesting exercise to ask everybody on here what their 'top 10 reasons why jws don't have the truth' actually were.
maybe we can see some correlating views/patterns/ideas that may help us de-programme the newbies that come on this site.
if eventually most people have an outstanding gripe/concern it'll help everybody understand the ex-jw mindset a little better.

Coffee_black, I guess they also have the wackiest false prophecies too!
Strange how their defintion of fale prophet is such a simple, easy to understand when they are speaking of other relgions, but this murky, difficult to understand defintion full of all sorts of qualifications when it comes to themself. If the definition the WT uses for a false prophet when speaking of themself was a real defintion, a person/org would have to be braindead to fit the definition.

by behemot injehovahs witness charged08 october 2010a jehovahs witness member faces a year in prison over her refusal to allow her son to receive a blood transfusion that might have prevented his death in august, interfax reported thursday.. ilya orlukovich, 11, was hospitalized in moscow on aug. 9 after being hit by a car, and he died two weeks later, a spokesman for the city branch of the investigative committee told interfax.. he said the boys mother forbade doctors from offering a blood transfusion because of a jehovahs witness teaching that prohibits such operations.

Some christmas spirit, WT style!
by bohm inwell, i know its a bit self-serving since i allready posted this in jwfacts thread http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/bible/199939/1/watchtower-images-required, but i think its quite funny and things have been kind of serious around here for the past couple of weeks.. it seem to me that when jahs chanel have desided (im kidding, they has been told) the one and true god really hate christmas and will kill you in nasty ways if you go ahead and celebrate it, it provide a pretty compelling case for not celebrating christmas.
but the governing body can make an even stronger case than that: not only will jesus cry and clice you up if you celebrate christmas, you will also have a really bad time.

Dubs claim ROmans is speaking only of the Jewish feast. However, the context weighs against that- Pauls comments are very general, directed to the cong at large (which would contain gentiles who celebrated what Jews would consider pagan festivals) and he does not name what celebrations he is speaking of. However, even IF he only meant the Jewish feasts, the WT ignores this verse and would Df anyone who celebrated the Jewish feasts today. The org tries to twist this verse a bit and claim Paul was speaking only of the Jewish feasts and then the WT will add tht these feasts were no longer necessary so we shouldn't today- then run to the verse about the Old Covenant being obsolete. However, necessary or not is totally absent from the Romans account- it is simply about freedom and use of conscience. The unrelated text of the Old Covenant being obsolete is about it being obsolete as far as looking to the Law for salvation.
