  shouldn't all of us ex-dubs, lurkers and nominal jw's have an anthem?.

  This is my own personal anthem ... I wrote it about 4 years ago and so far it is coming true ... all except the cabin by a stream part .... Maybe one day ....

  If my life were perfect
  And I could live my dream
  I’d be writing music
  In a cabin near a stream
  My babies would surround me
  Humming my simple tunes
  And when the sun fell from the sky
  I’d share my moons with you

  I’d wake up each morning
  In our feather bed
  I’d feel your warmth beside me
  And hear your steady breath
  My heart would know the peace of
  A lover and a friend
  A though our love would grow and change
  It would never ever end

  My children would all grow up
  Strong and proud and free
  They would grow up knowing
  The best there was of me
  They would have the courage
  To make a better choice
  And never be afraid to
  Always trust that inner voice

  When My life is over
  And they carry me away
  I will leave some wisdom
  Behind me from the grave
  Its voice will be my music
  And the words my children speak
  Its message would be one of Love
  And the strength we find in peace

  Why I love Mom

  mom and dad were watching tv when mom said, "i'm tired, and it's .

  When I was about 8 I had a rag doll that I carried with me everywhere. Her name was Becca and she was very nearly loved to death. Her poor neck spewed stuffing from an often-darned rent and her red yarn hair had all but fallen out, but she was my baby. Every night she was by my side, as I would drift off to dream. I remember waking one morning to find her missing. I searched frantically for her only to leave for school in tears. My Becca was gone and somehow I had to find a way to sleep without her. I remember that night, my mother lying next to me and rubbing my hair until the tears had abated and I fell into a miserable slumber. The next day, upon my return from school, I saw a shiny box. It was an empty Pampers box (they were still packaging them in boxes when I was young) and it was wrapped in aluminum foil. It was big and sparkly and my mother said that it was for me! I remember being genuinely surprised to come home to a present. I very gingerly removed the foil, and opened the box to find, not Becca, but her clone. My mother had taken my precious doll and, carefully removing all of her stitching, used her as a pattern to make me a brand new dolly. She looked exactly like Becca, except for one minor difference. This dolly had a big heart embroidered on her chest with the words "I love Tema" inside. This is why I love my Mom. She had six children, NO money, and a heart that somehow knew just how to love us exactly right.

  I haven't thought of this for a long time, but it is one of my favorite childhood memories.

  NEWS: I am publicly reproved over UN situation.

  my wife and i met with 3 elders for a "judicial hearing".. our crime: simply put, was talking.

  i showed a friend the un website where the wts was listed as an ngo which then led to a 2 hour discussion of various doubts that we both have had.

  my wife also showed a friend the un thing but also discussed with her a first hand account of a pedophile cover-up that we knew about in our former congregation.

  Thank you for sharing your story. I would just like to add my voice to those who are offering support now.

  Tomorrow evening, I will be sharing the UN information with the members of my family who are still active. I am aprehensive, but I feel as if I must. However it turns out, it is good to know that there are others who understand and are willing to be supportive.

  This will be the first year that I have a tree and I can't wait. I love to cook and love to celibrate, but haven't had the courage to let my home show it until this year. It will be my son's first Christmas. Yippee.

  Andi,

  I am right there with you girl. For the first time in my life I do have a ton to be gratefule for, yet I find myself worrying. My husband works in the Federal Building in downtown Cincinnati and I can't help but feel that he is vulnerable. I have a precious baby boy. I know that I am truly blessed. But I still worry. I still feel a little raw around the edges and sore in the middle. I am glad to read your post and the responses because I know I am not the only one who feels as I do. Maybe that is the greatest comfort we can offer one another. Togetherness.

  My past weekend

  saturday afternoon i made the decision to step down as a minsterial servant.

  i had given it a lot of thought and i came to the conclusion that i would be doing the right thing.

  i told my wife about the decision i had planned on making and that basically killed her mood for the rest of the day.

  Jon passed away this morning

  my name is kevin and i am jon's partner.

  jon gave me his password a few weeks ago and asked me to post to the board if something happened to him.

  as some of you know jon had been undergoing cancer treatment since the end of july.
