Whether he changes his life for the better or not is his own affair. We can wish him well if we are so inclined. But there is no need for him to continue making ex-JW videos. There are others who can do it without the baggage and without the kind of damage he has done to others. He is not only surplus to requirement, but he is likely to cause harm if he insists on being involved with the next inquiry or commission because of his background. He can seek to change his life while doing something else. If he had any regard for others he would step aside instead of doing further damage. All those times he threatened ‘walking away from his activism’ ring pretty hollow now that he is clinging onto it for dear life, out of pure ego and self interest, and to hell with others if it harms them in the process.

I suspect, even when LE gets down to like 100 patrons, he’ll still be doing it, because it’s free money practically, so from his point of view, as long as people are still willing to send him money, why not take it? He’ll probably scale back his effort but still take the money, his idea of keeping it “sustainable”.
I only pay for one one channel on YouTube and that mythvision because I think Derek does very good interviews, he’s respectful to the scholars he interviews, and I like him. I don’t share his beliefs but I have respect for his approach. I am sorry he had a break with Dr Bob Price a few months ago, but I think that was more Dr Price’s fault than Derek. Plus I think Derek has made efforts to patch it up. 👍
I have also made one off donations to Novara media on YouTube because I think they have the best news analysis on YouTube. But those are the only cases I have paid YouTube creators. Nothing JW related.

He’s a blagger par excellence, that’s why. It doesn’t speak well of the Remini show, or the commission in London for that matter, that he was accepted as a relevant person to include. But it happens. Our last prime minister in the UK was wholly unqualified and reportedly got into position purely by blagging - and the PM before that too, arguably. It’s reminiscent of the now famous tirade about “talentless people” in power by the disaffected Tory MP Charles Walker at the height to the Liz Truss fiasco.

I wonder if he’ll do the customary review of Watchtower statistics at the end of the year. Even if they show a downturn, Watchtower has never, not even after 1975, suffered a decline as dramatic as 2022 for LE. I guess he won’t do a video reviewing those statistics. I wonder if any other YouTuber has experienced a fall as swift and decisive as this?

If it requires an SSL certificate I hate those things. I spent 5 hours chasing my tail to get one of those until I finally gave up and a technician in the chat help just did it for me. I did not find the process of setting up a website easy at all.
