  Bully Tibor into taking a pay cut would probably be his first move.

  The drop in patrons must be really frustrating for him and he’s probably taking his frustration out on others. No doubt he tells Dijana this is all her fault for blowing the whistle on him every chance he gets, and uses it as his excuse for not giving money for the kids.

  In some ways the level of drop in patrons probably falls excruciatingly somewhere in the middle between “I can build it up again from here” and “this is just not worth it any more”. So he’ll probably struggle on for a long while yet before giving up.

  I wonder what he says to his patrons during his livestreams. Do you remember the kind of teacher in school who was inclined to give the class a lecture about the other pupils who didn’t turn up. Which was totally self defeating because they were punishing the ones that did turn up by lecturing them about the ones that weren’t there. I can imagine he probably does something similar to his remaining patrons, complaining about all the patrons that have left him. He can’t help being a victim even when he knows it turns people off.

  That’s if he bothers talking to his patrons at all. I see his latest update is about him missing yet another video appointment with his financial backers. How stupid have you got to be to still be sending LE your money at this point?

  daniel b[aird] wallace is professor of new testament, and author of greek grammar beyond the basics, a work first published by zondervan corporation in 1996. his work has since become a standard work in the intermediate koine greek field and has been translated into half a dozen languages.

  Thanks for the notes, especially useful, because it’s intelligible even me as someone who cannot read biblical Greek.

  Not related to this book, but Wallace also stirred some controversy a few years ago when, during a debate with Bart Ehrman, Wallace claimed he knew of the existence of a fragment of the New Testament dating from the first century that would soon be published. It turned out that his claims for the fragment did not materialise, causing both disappointment from some and also drawing criticism.

  Earnest there is no doubt the virus causes heart attacks and strokes, in rare cases even among young people. And it seems entirely plausible that some young people who have died from the virus would not have died if they had the vaccine.

  The complicating factor is that vaccines also cause some heart attacks and strokes.

  So the key question would seem to be, for young healthy people in particular: is getting a vaccine more likely to prevent you from getting a heart attack or stroke from the virus, or is it more likely to give you a heart attack or stroke as an adverse effect of the vaccine?

  Because we hear stories about young people who died from the virus and we also hear stories about young people who died from the vaccine. What we need is good reliable data.

  Yeah really not much chance of him thinking of other people rather than himself. In fact, he will probably be furious with her for ‘wasting his time’. He didn’t target Andrew Gold when Gold exposed him, but knowing Lloyd, he may view this YouTuber as an easier target for his bullying.

  I guess LE thinks there’s nothing wrong with him taking advantage of the naïveté of small content creators to muscle his way onto new channels. But even if he believes he deserves second chance, or whatever, the honourable thing would be for him to be open about his issues with any potential collaborator and allow them to make an informed decision. Otherwise he’s just wasting people’s time.

  Judging by his Amazon page he has clearly sold a large number of books and, even allowing for the probability that he has worked hard to remove negative reviews, he has a lot of positive reviews from readers. The only XJW books with more reviews (he has 403 reviews), as far as I can tell, are Crisis of Conscience by Raymond Franz (692) and Leaving the Witness by Amber Scorah. (483) That’s not bad going. I would call that success, even if there is no accounting for taste on the part of his readership.

  As for length, for example try telling Robert Caro how long the typical biography should be and he’ll triple it for you, and them some, and his readers love it. I’m not comparing LE’s work to Robert Caro by the way! I’m just saying I don’t believe in set lengths for genres.

  jehovah`s witnesses , seventh day adventists , church of jesus christ of the latter day saints.. these 3 are probably the more influenthal in the last 200 or so years ago.. if membership is a sign of god`s blessing on who he favours then @ the year 2021.. jehovah`s witnesses membership 8.5 million.

Scholars assessing dozens of census results concluded there are 8.6 million who self identify as Mormons compared with 17.5 million who self identify as Jehovah’s Witnesses, making Jehovah’s Witnesses more than twice as numerous as Mormons. In addition Mormons are far more geographically concentrated than JWs in a few regions such as Utah, South America, and certain pacific islands.   It’s perfectly reasonable for them to use 586 BCE as the anchor date, because from their perspective it is a verifiable and reliable date to start from. I guess the destruction of a city is far easier to identify by archaeological means than the return of Jews a generation later.

  What you can’t do is use the 586 BCE date as the base date for the method and then turn around and say the 586 BCE is supported by the method, because that’s like trying to hold up the branch your sitting on. (If I’ve understood what the article says) I don’t think they are claiming the method does support 586 BCE, because that’s a peculiar JW interest anyway, they would have no interest in doing so.

  It seems that the study used 586 BCE for the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem as the base date to calibrate their method and measure other dates in relation to it. If so, this method is not used to determine the 586 BCE date, rather it assumes it.
