I wonder if the people complaining that this thread has persisted too long are also over on LE’s social media pages complaining about him persisting with his claim to stand up for abused people despite everything we know about his own behaviour. Or is it only psychopathic narcissists who deserve a break?
i thought the reasoning sound as to the wt explaination of babylon the great, ( world empire of false religion ) but have any of you knowledge of other plausible explainations?

Psychopaths always point to others as worse than themselves. Reminds me of Ian Brady claiming Tony Blair was worse than him as if that somehow excused his own crimes. It’s mind bending logic.

Hess tried to broker a peace deal. I personally don’t think he should have spent his whole life in jail. He probably tried to do some good. The others obviously deserved their fate, or if anything, got off lightly, as in the case of Speer.

I’m not in favour of giving him any just cause to feel aggrieved. This whole sorry situation is so completely of his own doing and the result of his own moral bankruptcy, it’s better to leave it that way so the issue is crystal clear for any new onlookers.

i was wondering what your guys' meeting attendance was like.
our meetings here is like 50/50 with zoom and in person.
the spanish has it a little "better" with it being like 30% zoom attendance with most attending in person.. i've heard of congregations in other states having attendance where most (even elders and ms) attend meeting only via zoom and even have their cameras off.
Was about 60/40 KH versus Zoom, increased to around 70/30 following the letter telling JWs to get back to the KH.
this one stands out in my mind.
it was reported that 'a brother', unnamed of course, was out in field service and was set upon by a pack of vicious dogs.
he made it back to the car and was injured quite badly with his arms, hands and leg bleeding heavily.

One I heard that was a variation on a theme: while in the hairdressers a sister was told, by someone who worked there who, in hindsight, must have been a “demonic”, or a possessed person, that because Jehovah killed the demons’ children (the Nephilim) in the flood, the demons are now determined to snatch as many youngsters away from the truth as possible so they will die at Armageddon. Why at a hairdressers? I’ve no idea. I think this might have been an idea about the demons targeting young JWs, made in a talk at some point, that was grossly embellished and set in a conversation in a public place.
