When even Fox News says Trump has crossed a line, I think it's time to stop pretending what's happening here is neither novel nor disturbing. What Obama never did was call journalists "enemies of the people".

What is your opinion of the news media?
by minimus into me they have an agenda and they really don't care about professional journalism.
most are untrustworthy and that's a shame.

Round and round the not so marigoround
by Coded Logic ini find most theist arguments to be either confused or dishonest at best.
and most of them i regard with mild annoyance.
but there is one track of thinking that is so stupid it really gets under my skin: when, in order to try and prop up "faith", people try and tear down reason and critical thinking.

I agree that definite claims about God, his existence or nature are also presumptuous.
My favourite believer is Rowan Williams because he is anything but presumptuous.

Maybe you find the theistic response which questions human rationality most troublesome because you find it difficult to formulate a "reasonable" response.
Somehow we don't find it difficult to accept that a dog will never work out a value for Pi or compose a sonnet.
Yet we find it more difficult to accept the possibility that questions of divine being, ultimate existence, purpose and evil, may be beyond human understanding.
Why do we presume that the human mind is equipped to settle such matters one way or another?

What did president Trump say?
He claimed an incident happened in Sweden that didn't happen.
What did the OP do?
It tried to muddy the watters by implying that president Trump isn't as stupid as he sounds.

Reveal article: Jehovah’s Witnesses settle suit alleging cover-up of child sex abuse
by AndersonsInfo inhttps://www.revealnews.org/blog/jehovahs-witnesses-settle-lawsuit-alleging-coverup-of-child-sex-abuse/.
by trey bundy / february 17, 2017 .
the jehovah’s witnesses settled a lawsuit this week brought by a pennsylvania woman who says the religion’s leaders covered up sexual abuse she suffered as a teenager.. the settlement came five days into a trial in which stephanie fessler, a former jehovah’s witness, claimed the religion’s parent corporation violated pennsylvania’s child abuse reporting laws by instructing local leaders – known as elders – not to report her allegations to police.. according to fessler, a middle-aged jehovah’s witness woman, terry monheim, began sexually abusing her when she was 14. at 15, fessler disclosed the abuse to her parents.

I like a good movie. And I think Breaking Bad was the best thing for TV ever.
I can live without seeing Karate Kid II however.
I've thought I should keep a diary of what I read and watch. If I'm going to spend a couple of hours watching or reading something, I might as well write a few sentences about it.

Last Week I Got A Call From An Elder I Haven't Seen In 20 Years...😳
by minimus inwhile i was at work i got a phone call from an elder i haven't seen in decades!
he started asking me questions about my family, my ex, and told me that he heard i "was no longer in the truth".
i got a little defensive and he quickly picked up on it and assured me his call had nothing to do with checking up on me regarding the religion.

I find it interesting that FDR became a member of the Pythian society while he was president in 1936. And Rutherford detested Roosevelt. I wonder if Rutherford ever made comment on Roosevelt becoming a member. Rutherford was prone to take any action by Roosevelt as proof he was part of some Satanic conpriracy.
