""I don't even know what "in Christ" means. How is that different from being Christian?""
I didn't state my position. I think the bible teaches that to be a Christian a person has to be "in Christ"
Peace
jehovah's witnesses pride themselves in believing that they alone are picked by god, jehovah god, specifically.
they say they are not part of the world and are unlike the false religions that are mired in their traditions.
i say they are liars!

Romans 6:3-11
Romans 8:1 nwt "in union with Christ"
But the WTS teaches that only the 144000 are part of the new covenant.
And only the 144000 can partake of the emblems.
I can only deduce that the WTS thinks that only the 144000 are "in Christ".

"dubs are not scriptural or even Christian because:"
They are not "in Christ". Not part of the new covenant. According to the WTS only the 144,000 are in Christ.

i am posing this question to christians.
this is a sincere question..
"I am a former Christian."
"I used to say this a lot as a JW"
Were you one of the 144,000?
According to the WTS and their teachings, the only JWs that are Christians are the members of the 144,000

I was not speaking to how hell is taught in the traditions of man.
Hell (the lake of fire) is spoken about in the book of Revelation.
If one believes that the bible is the word of God, one has to believe in the existance of hell.
I don't think anyone should go beyond what the bible says about it.

Teaching for years and years that the physical generation that saw the events of 1914 will not pass away until the end comes.
Then changing it. I don't think you will find that in the Bible.

Banning people from partaking of the emblems.
Christ said if you don't partake, you do not have life.

Banning people from celebrating Christ's birth.
The angels did.

I assume you are talking about the lake of fire from Revelation 20, where Satan will be tormented day and night for ever and ever?
I don't know where it is.
I don't think it has to be anywhere, in a physical sense.
No matter how much the WTS want to say it, God is not bound by his own creation.
Hell can be where ever God wants it to be. Within our physical reality or outside it.
One thing is sure, hell will exist "for ever and ever". That is, if you believe the bible.

Do you mean in a physical sense?
I don't think in those terms.
Why does it matter?
