Islam (who in the words of the Koran view Jews as filthy pigs)
could you provide us with the verse that says so? never read that in the quran... it says that a hypocritical jew looks like an ass though...
i think wars are rarely about religion. but religion is a great weapon in wars. it comes in handy to create a "we vs. them" ideology. and it's a great tool to make (naive) people want to die for a cause.
religion makes good people do bad things.

Is religion the real reason for many wars?
by Pole ina lot of posters on this board have expressed the opinion that religion is the reason for many wars.
some have even implied that if religion was "banned" the number of wars would be reduced.

tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies...
don't know if this is true, but i heard some gossip about one member of fleetwood mac being an elder...
ah, and when i saw some "best of commercial clips" transmission on tv recently, there was a clip about a user not being able to log on to his computer. after the clip the host said "you see, nowadays it's easier for a JW to get into someone's apartment than for a user to get into his pc". -

Blood taking...is it a disfellowshipping offence or up to conscience.
by Gill incan you tell me whether the taking of blood is a conscience matter or a disfellowshipping matter?.
i ask this because i have just come away from a heated discussion with my parents and they insist that taking blood or blood products has always been a matter of conscience and no one has ever been disfellowshipped for taking blood.
they say that a question was raised at the service meeting over the new blood card/documents whether taking blood fractions was breaking gods law and the presiding overseer j.h said that taking blood has always been a conscience matter and never was anyone disfellowshipped for it.. is this true?

if you wholeheartedly repent to have saved your life with a blood transfusion, you'll not be kicked.

Crucifiction discrepency
by chappy inall of the wts publications give the date of jesus' crucifiction as 33ce.
the general consensus is that he was born sometime between 3 and 5 bc, meaning the crucifiction would have been around 30ce.
have they ever given an explination for this discrepency?.

leolaia, thanks for the link. i already read some of these articles trying to explain the obvious away (this happens to each and every biblical inconsistency). but when put into context it simply doesn't work... at least not for me at the moment.
some believe, luke confused quirinius' time in galatia with his governing period in syria. that wouldn't explain away the census though. tertullian even changed the name "quirinius" to "saturnius" to make things straighter... which just proves, that even early christians had problems with it. -

the reason why the WTS makes the average JW think they know for sure when jesus was born, and the importance of the year 33 AD is because of the daniel prophecies about the 70 year-weeks (TM).

i recently did some research on the birthdate of yeshuah bar mariam. there are several discrepancies within the different gospel traditions. the main problem is the matthew gospel (having herod I killing all up to 2 year olds, herod I died in spring/4 BC) and luke (having senator quirinius counting the people, senator quirinius became governor of syria and judaea in 6 AD). then there's the question when the 14th year of tiberius actually was, as he already ruled for one or two years with his father. those are dates that can't be synchronized.
additionally there's the incompatibility of the synoptic gospels with john about the day of yeshuah's execution. the day before the pashah or the day of the pashah? the gospels simply are not compatible... -

because killing is not wrong. We kill to eat, we kill everytime we flush a toilet, and we kill for oil to run our vehicles.
actually that looks more like a red herring. we are still talking about humans here. i don't think you kill humans to eat, or everytime you flush a toilet.
and just because it happens (killing for oil for example), doesn't necessarily make it morally correct. -

Seems to me that it is you who doesn't understand the psychopathic/sociopathic personality.
oh my sweet little robyn, a psychopath/sociopath suffers a form of antisocial personality disorder. this is a mental illness. read the "diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders" (published by the american psychiatric association) if you don't believe what i say.
don't know where you get your quotes from, but they are either far from complete or cut out of context.
