  i have read countless times in this site and others that there is speculation that someone high up in the watchtower world required an organ transplant, and then because of that, their position that they had held since 1967 changed in 1980.i believe i have found a clue to who that person might have been.

  i leave it to the exjw community to investigate further, but it's tantalizing!it is waay too much of a coincidence that:lee cordaway got a phone call in january 1980 that his kidneys were failing.

  lee was 18 years old at the time.watchtower printed its "organ transplants are allowed now" article in march 1980.. january 1981: lee goes into the organ donor list for new kidneys.august 1981: lee receives his new kidney.september 1981: lee's new kidney is rejected, he has to have it removed.

  A recent study found that kidney transplant recipients who did not receive blood transfusions prior to surgery had survival and organ function rates similar to those of kidney patients who did receive transfusions. Researchers at the University of Minnesota compared Jehovah’s Witnesses, who refused blood transfusions for religious reasons, to a control group of non-Jehovah’s Witnesses who received kidneys along with transfusions. Their findings were published in the June 1988 issue of Transplantation.

  Nevuela, I didn't say that he was the heavyweight... my take is that he was the son or a relative of some heavyweight.

  SBF, nope. Right down to the end of 1979 they were talking about how horrible transplants were, and then in March 1980 was the reversal.

  Thank you for making me investigate that, it makes my case even stronger that it was changed FOR someone's sake, and I believe that it was for Lee.

  He knew something was up in 1979... but didn´t confirm his kidneys were failing until Jan 1980.

  Lee Cordaway got a phone call in January 1980 that his kidneys were failing. Lee was 18 years old at the time.
  
  Watchtower printed its "organ transplants are allowed now" article in March 1980.

  January 1981: Lee goes into the organ donor list for new kidneys.
  
  August 1981: Lee receives his new kidney.
  
  September 1981: Lee's new kidney is rejected, he has to have it removed. Lee goes on dialysis.

  1987: Lee starts getting (synthetic) EPO.

  1994: Watchtower publishes an article saying that EPO is a conscience matter.
  
  Circa 1996: Lee dies from complications of kidney disease.

  I just saw this movie.

  Vidiot, 99% accuracy, I would say. Perhaps because of some legal issues, they couldn't call it "The Watchtower" magazine, but they called it "The Truth" magazine.

  Other than that, very, very accurate! It makes sense, since the novel's author was a witness.

  Why on Earth would they hide that Russell was a Mason?

  You can find public information on 14 US presidents who were freemasons, you can find public information on Joseph Smith that he was a freemason, you can find public information that at one point William Miller was a freemason.

  Why would they publicly and openly admit and not only admit but celebrate that U.S. presidents were freemasons, but have absolutely no information on the books about C.T. Russell?

  The proof of membership is in the Lodge records, and there have been no lodge records found of C.T. Russell being a member.

  Essentially, this is what started the doctrine that you couldn't divorce your spouse if he/she cheated on you with another member of the same sex.

  This ended in 1972 with another WT article. So for 25 years, many marriages couldn't be disolved without the chance of remarrying if one of the spouses was gay.

  Still, to this day, there is a loophole, where two men masturbating in front of each other is not porneia.

  the new "pillowgate" video exposed a loophole in the witnesses´s thinking, showing how dangerous and stupid legalism is.. this loophole is sure to destroy many people´s lives.. 1) they said that two men masturbating at the same time in front of each other does not constitute "porneia".. 2) "porneia" is the only biblical reason for divorce.. 3) from 1) we can also get two women masturbating in front of each other, or a man and a woman masturbating in front of each other, does not constitute "porneia".4) most people would consider masturbating at the same time with another person to be cheating, and a logical reason for divorce.. so this will lead to many witnesses going to the elders and being told that they cannot divorce this person who clearly cheated on them.

  then, if this person (the "innocent mate") divorces and marries someone else, then that person would be the one possibly disfellowshipped!the implications of the loophole are so stupid and so damaging!i predict another flip-flop.

  "considering things more closely, this is "porneia"... or doubling down on it ("sorry but that is what the biblical limits are") or just fading away into those things that only 1% of jw´s know it´s a rule....
