LV she's also smart, maybe she doesn't post that kind of stuff anymore but you can look in the archives to see. It inspires one to pull a Wayne's World:

Speaking of stories though, I'd just add that it's not just our past. We are all writing a story together right now as we speak, even if it is just interacting online and there's caring in that, too - just by virtue of the fact that we're relating to each other.

That's brilliant Trueone! Are they, or is that an identity that they believe themselves to be? What we do know is they are people like anyone else, and that is not dependent on believing anything. You are what you are, things are what they are, beliefs are what you think about them.

Maybe it's a little hard for the personal, one on one caring to come through online sometimes but I think the evidence is clear that there's a lot of caring on here. I just came back on this forum after years of not being on and right away I found like 3 threads full of support for people, that says a lot. I don't want to just say I care because as they say talk is cheap, and I just don't know a lot of people, but I think how we care can be seen from the amount of attention put into the different posts. Why would you go through the trouble if you didn't care?

It's not just a matter of what you believe or the content, but there is the fallacy of holding on to beliefs in terms of absolutes regardless of whether it's positive or negative beliefs. I don't know, I guess some sense of security may have something to do with it but it only makes sense to have reasons for what you believe, which means it is conditional. Also since peoples identities are tied in to their beliefs I guess that accounts for being resistant to change.
EDIT: For that matter, why is it necessary to hold a belief on everything - especially if it's on something one does not even understand or know about?

What's a really good movie you'd recommend that most people probably haven't seen?
by A.Fenderson inwhat's a really good movie you'd recommend that most people probably haven't seen?.
my personal recommendation: synecdoche, new york.
it's one of those movies that words fail utterly to capture--which really is the hallmark of a good movie, i suppose.

dssynergy, you mean It Should Happen to You? It Could .. is another movie.
For those who like martial arts flicks, Ip Man is now out in the US, starring Donnie Yen. He's the spear guy in Hero with Jet Li. BTW Ip Man was Bruce Lee's Wing Chun teacher for those who don't know.

"We're not here to debate or argue"
by sabastious inas a jw i was always taught "never to get into debate or argue with householders.".
you know what is interesting about that?.
the message i had when i went to your door was essentially "hello, what ever your current belief is... is wrong.

I look at responsibility as being proportionate to the degree of awareness. At best most of the time people are semi-conscious, the bottom line is when you don't know any better you don't know any better.
