Blood
by radar inhaving once been a public talks co-ordinator.. it was a source of bewilderment to me why no public talks were given on the subject of blood!.
of all the public talk outlines i had to assign to speakers, none were on that subject.. now considering that j.ws are known to the outside world by two things, namely door knocking and refusal of blood tranfusions.
it seemed strange that that there was not one public talk outline on that subject.. the only time we got a talk on it, was when i invited a local hospital liason elder to give a talk in our congregation.

Maybe it is because someone up on high at Bethel who puts the outlines together, has realised you CANNOT logically and reasonably put the case for refusing the four main components, yet allowing minor fractions and Factor VIII, yet still be able to quote the scripture from Acts "abstain from blood", and yet allow organ transplants. It just doesn't hold together.
Maybe they have realised that they cannot realistically expect newcomers to the Hall, who as yet are not under their mind-control, to believe that God is love, we must love our neighbour as Jesus did, that killing is wrong, yet deliberately refusing life-saving treatment for your child is right. If this were put in an outline, newcomers would only ever visit the Hall once, and would leave pretty quick!!
An individual is only under the control once they have been baptized and been a JW for a few years. Then the reality hits them!!

Folks, does this remind you of anything? The following is taken from the video “Winnie the Pooh’s Most Grand Adventure” – Walt Disney, 1997. (A great video by the way!!)
Introduction
Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger and Rabbit go to their good friend Owl, to ask his advice on how to find Christopher Robin.
Owl replies that “they need a map”. So he goes to his shelf, finds a blank roll of parchment and proceeds to produce a map.
The contents of the map are decided on the fears of each individual ie, Jugulars, Hefalumps and Woozels etc. The more frightening the object, the more it appears on the map.
The map is constructed exploiting the greatest fears of the group.
The group set off on their adventure to find Christopher Robin. Rabbit now believes in the infallibility of this map. Winnie the Pooh can see the way, however Rabbit is determined to follow the map at all costs, and at which point bursts into song……………………
RABBIT’S SONG
Excuse me, the way to there is over here……..
Now which are you going to believe,
This official map, or your own eyes?
Look for yourself and you’ll see we are right on course.
It is all right there in black and white.
Why would anyone want to wander around, wondering which way to go when they have a map to follow?A map is not a guess, an estimation or a hunch, a feeling or a foolish intuition.
A map is a dependable, unwavering, inarguably accurate portrayer of your position.Never trust your ears, your nose, your eyes,
Putting faith in them is most unwise.
Here’s a phrase you all must memorise,
In the printed word is where truth lies.Never trust your tummies, tails or toes,
You can’t learn a thing from any of those.
Here’s another fact I must disclose,
From the mighty pen, true wisdom flows. If it says so, then it is so,
If it is so, well so it is.
A thought’s not fit to think, till its printed in ink.
Then it says so, so it is.Never trust that thing between your ears,
Brains will get you nowhere fast my dear.
Haven’t had a need for mine in years,
On the page is where the truth appears. If it says so, then it is so,
If it is so, well so it is.
A thought’s not fit to think, till its printed in ink.
Never differ from or doubt it,
Or go anywhere without it.So we don’t need to fret about it.
If it says so, so it is.

He doesnt run ahead of the chariot and make his own changes.
He stays in the dark and waits on JHVH -

elderly people, not married, living together?
by Mulan ini would like some opinions on a situation that seems to be arising in my family.. since my mother is now a widow, and her income will be much less, she may not be able to afford to stay where she is, even with the financial assistance she gets from the family.
so we have talked about her moving in with us.
the problem is, my father, her ex husband lives with us too.

Surely the arrangment is no differant to if they where living in a retirement home with communal areas and individual bedrooms.
Would the elders dissaprove of that. -

Tell them you are taking a sabbatical.
Most are ignorant enough to think that its scriptural and dont question you any further -

God on Trial - #3 - Standard of Justice
by Amazing ineating fruit: when eve and then adam ate the fruit, they were given the death penalty and low productivity yield from their food growing efforts.
but, they did get a nice long life, somewhere around 900-930 years.. murder: cain murdered his own brother, abel.
cain whines to jehovah about how severe his punishment is, too great to bear, and jehovah consents to put a mark on him so that no one will harm cain.

There is a saying in the UK that 'The devil looks after his own'
so maybe thats why so many good, kind and honest hearted people are down trodden and strugging both in the world in general and the org in particular. -

Apostasy DF'ing On Hold?
by MadApostate injust read the latest posts in the "just got home..." thread, and the posts regarding "no repercussions for apostasy" jogged my memory about something i posted about a month ago.. if you will recall, i posted that an old jw acquaintance had recently obtained my email address from a relative, and had sent me an email which i quickly interpreted as an attempt to get me to put my "apostate" beliefs in writing, so there would be "hard evidence" for a judicial committee.
there were 2 or 3 other posters who related that the exact same thing had occurred to them recently.. well, i haven't heard anything since, and i even encountered an elder at the supermarket over the weekend.
we didn't exchange conversation, but we did exchange quick greetings as he hurried pass me.. the funny thing is that my own family refer to me as "the apostate", with some totally avoiding contact, some only making contact for family business, and one or two fluctuating back and forth from normal to shunning.

We had the PO's wife call in recently and she completely ignored all the birthday cards and balloons that we had up.
We havent been to a meeting for about 1 year and other half was an elder for about 12 years.
We also had a young elder call in about 2 weeks ago on his own just to see how we were he said, so I really dont know what thay are doing.
