That day is to be holy so why would I want to go somewhere that is not, and causes me stress and pain with bad memories of injustice, and foolishness.

What happens when the faithful and discreet slave die off?
by JustTickledPink ini am a bit fuzzy, but i always remembered that the "faithful and discreet slave" were the annointed members of the governing body and that they were led by jehovah god.... of course according to the wts.. now, as they get older and other wts corporations have been formed and the president of the wts himself isn't of the "annointed" then what happens when the "annointed" governing body members who represent the "faithful and discreet slave" die off?.
where is the intermediatary between the regular jw's and jehovah?
what will happen to the light that kept getting brighter?

Disfellowshipped vs. Disassociated vs. Inactive Relatives
by carefully faded inhi everyone.. i'm hoping someone can clarify a couple of points for me regarding how jw's are instructed to treat relatives who have left the organization.
i understand that people who disassociate themselves are treated primarily the same way as disfellowshipped ones.
however, what is the latest instruction for how to treat inactive relatives - not the same as ones who have purposely disassociated themselves, right?.

Yes brothers and sisters I seek to call you all to your senses "Stop Touching the unclean thing," return to the sorse of pure water and truth that you find here at the meetings, there you will find refreshment for your souls. So long as you are ready to obey and be asorbed into the body everything will be hunkie dorey, Landru see's all, Landru has spoken.

Well basicly how I see it is the disassociated ones enjoy being away by and large, and the disfellowshiped ones feel like Joan of Ark and are willing and want to crawl back on their knees till they are bloodied. ( Been there done that, but not again.)
Crawling in my skin
these wounds they will not heal,
fear is how I fall
confusing what is real.Shane

"Brainwashing" does not exist
by logansrun inthe term "brainwashing" is sometimes thrown around this forum and i thought i'd briefly comment on it.
the idea that a group or person can actually make you think, act and feel in a certain way is highly dubious.
i'm not saying it's impossible, but i highly doubt that any ex-jws have ever experienced "brainwashing.

Hi Dude, have you ever heard of cooking a frog in such a manor that he won't jump from the pot? Well all you do is put Kermit the frog in the water and turn the flame on so low it almost goes out, and in about three hours Kermit is cooked and ready to serve to the GB to use as they see fit; get my drift.

I hated the pecking order they had concerning giving public talks, reading the watch tower, and all the rest.
As I think back to that time I see now that I got even, I was a real turd when I was 14 to 15 I hated going to meetings so bad I spent most of the time setting on the pot in the mens rest room doing unspeakable things, ha ha.

Who here still finds it hard to celebrate Christmas?
by dh ini was raised a jw and as i've probably said before, i left when i was around 18... i'll be 27 in a few days, and as i get older realise how i do not really know how to celebrate anything.
being raised a jw we never had xmas or birthdays (or any celebration), and since none of the friends i had when i left the jw's were christian either, i have to this day never celebrated it... i am not christian and will openly admit that i couldn't care less about the religious side of christmas, but what i see around me, everywhere in the world are people who aren't really christian either, celebrating christmas, either for kids or friends or whatever, but i've never done that or had anyone around me to do that with... people look forward to this time of year so much, they buzz and rush around like it's a real event, and to this day i've never been able to feel that way.
most of my christmas/birthdays since leaving jw's have been spent by myself, completely devoid of celebration, i want to get into that feel good spirit, but i don't know how, and if i try to fake it, i know it is fake.

Masturbation reduces risk of prostate cancer?
by melmac insource: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/3072021.stm .
men could reduce their risk of developing prostate cancer through regular masturbation, researchers suggest.
they say cancer-causing chemicals could build up in the prostate if men do not ejaculate regularly.

Most kids feel like two cents because of up-bringing or religioin or what ever to squeeze one off as the need may arise.
My new wife is so understanding, she tells me to go and get the "poison out", besides I get blue ball and that hurts. My ex-wife who was raised a witness told me: if I ever! done it and she caught me she would devorce me saying it that its the same as adultrey as far as she was concerned.
Happy days are here again, let the flood gates of heaven be opened.
