the fed-ex guy looked confused as i opened the door.
i cleared up the confusion by telling him that since my neighbor was working, she wanted me to accept her package.

If the JW leadership is all about the money, what do they want it for?
by True North inin the brief time that i've been reading jw-related postings and sites on the net, i've seen a lot of stuff regarding the jw leadership being all about the money with the implication that there is something unsavory about their acquisitiveness.. if that is true, what exactly do they want it for?
from what i've read, the gb seem to live reasonably well (better, in fact, than the average jw would expect, i think) but it hardly seems anything that would have earned them a spot on lifestyles of the rich and famous.
so, why would they be so concerned about amassing organizational wealth?

It's not a matter of "if", it's a matter of "when"
by DanTheMan inradical, militant islamists or a "rogue state" like n. korea will eventually succeed in nuking one or more american cities.
of this i am utterly convinced, it is not a matter of it "might" happen, the question is how soon will they succeed in pulling it off, and what will the fallout of such an event be, besides the loss of hundreds of thousands or perhaps millions of lives?.
john kerry in a recent stump speech said that all it would take is one megaterrorist attack to drastically change life as we know it.

by spiritwalker ini worked in the cable industry for awhile and each year we would go to a convention in which stations would promote themselves to keep our business.
in doing this, there were always the adult channels represented, as well.
while i walked the floor and met people from showtime, hbo and other stations.

Mormon South Park!!
by dustyb ini know that south park can be a retarded show, but they have an episode about mormons, and i can't believe how accurate it is to mormonism and it also kinda resembles the jw movement.
its great!
i recommend downloading it if you have high speed internet because its funny.

if you were a dub, this episode is the greatest episode of south park ever. it relates so much to JW's that its not funny (but you'll die laughing at the similarities). me and a friend watched it a few weeks ago and i was laughing my ass off and he was wondering why (he's not a JW). i love it! Replace Joseph Smith with Charles Russell and you'll crack up.
