i haven't attended meetings for about two years now, and like many i've read about, have spent many hours researching, telling myself "i'm not wrong for searching", and doing more research.
toreador 1. The preponderance of evidence does not point to any date for it needs to be interpreted according to conventional methodology. If other methods are used then a different chronology could be constructed with different results. The position is at the moment that with such cumulative evidence, the precise date for the fall of Jerusalem cannot be precisely dated- 586?,587? 586/587? 588? 2. does not Jehovah say in his word that he will make the wisdom of the world foolish and that he grants wisdom to his loyal ones. The scholars of the world are blinded by the arch deceiver, Satan the Devil.
So what do we do with the OTHER nonscholars of the world who have come up with wrong dates and interpretations as have the WTS. How do we know who to follow?
3. Salvation does not depend upon a chronology or any date. Frederick Franz was the greatest Bible scholar that has ever lived.
If your statement is true, that our salvation does not depend on chronology, then why must we accept it to associate with the witnesses?

What do I do if I cant agree with some of what the GB says and for that reason they dont want me to associate with his people? What are you saying his word of truth is? What the WTS prints or what the bible says? thanks, Tor

I dont ask to many questions of you scholar because most are better acquainted with this 606/607 versus 586/587 matter than I.
But here is a couple questions for you.
1. Lets say you, against all odds you were right, does it make sense that the preponderance of the evidence would point to a date of 586/587 and be wrong?
2.Would God be a "good" God desiring all to be saved if he allowed the evidence to be so skewed towards 586/587 that most of the worlds scholars and researchers would be wrong.
3.If you say yes then God will destroy most of mankind for rejecting the doctrine of the Rutherfore/Franz who were not even secular scholars if scholars at all, because they were not able to discern 586/7 was in fact wrong. Is this correct?
I just dont have the time or desire to completely understand this date setting, so where does this leave me at the time of God's judgement?
I would like your thoughts please whatever they may be.

the law is that copyright for an author lasts through his life, and for so many years after his death.
(blondie will confirm this - with a source i betchya-) ::: in order to prove that certain works published years ago are still within the copyright, they would have to admit and confirm who wrote those works.. .
So who are they telling that who it was that wrote the books I wonder.

in my neck of the woods (which shall remain anonymous) the do and co have been circulating the rumour that the watchtower society is in financial straights and is being bled dry.
