Details on Files Kept in the Cong.

what exactly is put into the file on those who are disfellowedshipped?is the information very detailed,so that others can read such details,or is it just that they have been disfellowedshipped.. for example:suppose someone have been df.for a sexual matter,brother or sister.are the details descriptive of what was committed or is just that they were df.i know that on the outside of the envelope the name is posted and that's it.but if someone were to open the folder and look inside can they get the detailed information on that person?.

when do the elders destroy such folders?can a person who no longer wishes to come back get their records and destroy them themselves?.

I dont know for sure but I think they put the reason the person was dfed and prob mitigating circumstances if thought necessary.

I believe the name of the person and the elders are on the envelope. It is supposed to be consulted in the event of reinstatement application and the original elders are no longer in the congregation. It is not open for anyone walking bye or just wanting to look at the information.

I think you would have a hard time getting your records or getting them to even admit their was records.

Steve has probably fed that croc hundreds if not thousands of times. I think he knows what he is doing.

Sure it may have not been the smartest thing to do but I don't think he put the kid in any more danger than speeding during a rainstorm with you kid along.

How about parents who have their children doing flying trapeze acts. Or parents who take their kids flying in small airplanes with winds over 30 knots or inclement weather.

Where do we draw the line or make an issue of it. Steve does a lot of things that someone with less experience would not even think of doing.

Steve knew what the croc would focus on, the chicken, and knows exactly how fast and how far a croc can lunge from countless other feedings and experiences along the way.

All that being said it probably wasn't a good example to do something like this on public tv. You wouldn't see me handling poisonous snakes the way he does either, thats for sure.

I'd say give him a break. Everybody does something not so bright once in a while. Look at us and where we came from. Nobody's perfect.

He puts on a good show and to get good ratings and sell advertisements you have to be sensationalistic. I am sure he believed he was not putting the child in any real danger and probably misread what the audiences reaction might be.

does anyone know if a letter from the wts has been sent to the congregations about their being a member of the un as an ngo?

or has it just been told to the elders and then the rank and file hear about it if they ask the elders?

i know the wts said it was to get a library card but i need to know if there was actually a public announcement to the congregations about it..

Hidden Images In WT Publications

first of all, i would like to thank everyone who responded to my first posting regarding the hidden images thing.

i will admit that, after re-reading my initial post, i sounded like some sort of a paranoid alarmist, and i really did deserve the flack i received from some of you folks.. let me just say that there probably isn't a single x-jw who doesn't feel as though they have been duped to some degree with regard to the so-called "bible truth" they received while serving the organization.

many x-jws firmly use the terms "manipulation", "fear", "deception", and even more .

These illustrations stretch over several years,and you really believe that all this time those "funny" guys at the art department are/were getting away with having their fun without being called to order?This in such a heavily controlled environment like the WTS? Yeah I reckon a few slip by and some are just like I said, an accident. Some are of course on purpose but some are just the mind trying to find faces that aren't really there.

Thank you Imallgrowedup and all of you very much for responding! It was exactly what I needed to know. I wasn't sure if they had made an announcement or if it was all on a need to know or want to know basis. I thought maybe the WTS would want to come up with an answer and present it to the cong before the sh*t hit the fan so to speak. But I guess they haven't done so as of yet.

What really amazes me is to WHY they thought they could get away with it in the first place. Dont they think things through? Surely they must have thought that the info would get out sooner or later.

Was the WTS always listed on the UN's website or was that a new thing to post the NGO members?

i believe that god still helps some of the of the ones still "traped" in the org.

- god helped me greatly while i was still in.

Yeah, one helluva contradiction. There doesn't seem to be any rationale behind it at all. Please tell us AAF. Maybe there is something we are missing. I guess it wouldn't be the first time.

I agree with many of the other posters here who stated there are far more damning topics on which to expose the WTS for what they are than to try to extrapolate something sinister out of the illustrations other than someone just trying to amuse themselves in the art department. I would imagine after working in the art department at bethel for a few years one would try to find something/anything to amuse themselves.

Some people will believe anything for no other reason than "because they want too". Accepting reality would be just TOO painful to bear.

My JW relatives are a prime example.
