I suppose I’m pretty much the same, serious some times and sarcastically flippant other times. I’m confrontational, direct and aggressive but I try to remain objective.

This is the method I have been using both at work and at home to access current topics. Is this a change that everyone experiencing? Just curious.

Elder Conversation: Why Reform Won't Happen
by metatron ini had a nice conversation with an elder recently and it illustrates why reform of the organization is nearly impossible.
this elder.
is very aware of how bad things are becoming in congregations and he worries about his retirement.

if they have a reformation it would mean having to admit they were never Gods soul channel of communication
I disagree! They can use twisted reasoning (they've had a lot of practice) to make it appear that God changed his mind and then let them know.

With Albert Schroeder gone, there is a disturbance in the force...
by truthseeker inwith prince albert in heaven at jesus' right hand, there is now a gap in the force among the governing body.. the new administration is now one man short.
who will be his replacement?
maybe that's why they appointed geoffrey jackson and the other dude to gb members - they knew schroeder was going soon, maybe barr will be next.. .

If you exercise the calories off, they're exercised off. I just don't understand WHY time of day makes a difference. *shrug*
I believe this is because your metabolism slows down tremendously while you sleep and the calories convert to fat rather than being burned. I understand though where your coming from since I've never accepted the idea that someone was fat because they had metabolism problems. Fat is unburned calories, so to lose fat either eat less or exercise more or do both.

SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT re: Riley Trust Tobacco Compan Stock & WTS
by Oroborus21 ini have no interest in pontificating on this matter which to me seems so straightforward.
however, since i continue to see newbies and others periodically post in error stating that the wts "owns" tobacco company stock i believe that this should be corrected and the matter put to rest, hopefully for good.. .
facts:.

Oroborus, thank you for your clear and unbiased explanation of why the WTS is not guilty of hypocritically owning tobacco stock. You my friend are guilty of nothing but telling the truth of this matter. Seems to me that some of those replying to your comment are so blinded by their hate of the WTS that they are unable to be objective in their viewpoints.

Is the word out that you are an "Apostate"?
by rockhound inliving in a "spiritual paradise" is not without its dangers.
at every turn lurks those who harbor private opinions born from independant thinking.
all are suspect to elders on a witch hunt.
-
FairMind
JW elders and publishers have told me that I’m virtually an apostate, have apostate leanings and asked if I’m going to grow a beard. Nah! I don’t believe anyone views me as an apostate.
