tonight while at a restaurant discussing jw topics my mom told me that herbert armstrong was on the wt society board of directors years ago and that he ended up leaving over doctrinal issues, and was subsequently branded an apostate by the wt society, and after this he founded the worldwide church of god.
can anybody else verify this?
it does seem believable since a majority of the wwcog doctrines mirror those of the wt society.

The WWCOG and the DUBS were very much alike. I believe Herbie and Freddy both had a thing about "1975"
The only good thing about WWCOG is that they finally apologised for a lot of their flakey ideas.
You will NEVER see the WT do that. They always blame their mistakes on the rank and file.

Japan has refused to accept beef from the US after a scare over mad cow disease in 2003.
It wasn't just a scare of mad cow.There were proven cases of mad cow and allegations of a coverup.The U.S.A. had no problems banning(and continuing to ban) beef imported from Canada when mad cow broke out there but it seems like the same standards do not apply when the economy in the States is threatened.
For a good chuckle see the new T.V. commercials...eat steak..eat steak...eat a big old steer...with video of people cramming in the untainted?? beef from the U.S.A. I think they are starting to hurt and that is why they are using their economic might to force other countries to accept their beef.Money not health is the bottom line.

Lawrence....I saw it on a Canadian T.V. program.It was quite a long time ago so I don't really recall. It might have been "The Fifth Estate"
I still have a old video (fifth estate) from about 1982 when Ray Franz was kicked out and they did a little expose of "the truth"™.It might have been on there.

however, i met an intellectual and thoughtful and kind and honest and down-to-earth individual. we talked about all sorts of stuff as the regular business people came and went from around us. and it's nice to know, especially being newly worldly, that there are all sorts of good people out there.

while serving as an elder we had a sister who was moving to another congregation in conjunction with separating from her husband.. another brother and i had been working with them for many weeks and were asked to send a letter to the new congregation, commenting on the situation and scriptural validity of the separation.. the situation was that she claimed he was endangering her and cited one physical incident where she hid behind a door and playfully jumped out to scare him, he reacted by striking out with his arm and hit her in the shoulder.
she admitted he was very sorry about the incident, but she suspected he somewhat did it on purpose.
she also brought up several situations in there marriage of him not taking the lead and weird behavior.
I've got a jw brother who is married but for the last 10 years he has been living in Massachusetts and his wife has been living in Rhode Island. He still wears his wedding ring but they are never together. Go figure. Perhaps the new system will change his living arrangement.
Yep...It will change for the better.In the new system they will be forced to screw each other as they are still legally man and wife

Why do I get the feeling that at this very minute, WTS worker-bees are eagerly listening to the interview, trying to see if I said anything they can use against me?
Let the little jerk-offs listen in.It might help them to open their eyes about the real "truth" and the real facts of life. The WTBTS is pathetic and so is their legal team.They had their best days back in the 1940's but this is a new era of real truth and disclosure.

If you talked to the regular dub....they would use words like..on the brink...on the threshold...impending...fast approaching..etc ..etc..
If then you ask them if it would be wise to plant a garden next year because "A" will be here they will confess they really don't know and don't want to speculate. If you press them and ask about the year after they will back out of the conversation.They MUST KNOW deep inside that all the timing of the "new system" by the FDS is nothing but bull shit. The WT is a house of cards that can be blown over by a single thought..

an elder in our hall used to drink his wine before evening meetings regularly, and on more than a few occasions was "buzzed" and laughing up on the platform while giving a talk.
BTW, I had about 5 beers before a meeting in June that I went to. (I've only been to 2 meetings in the last 3 years. It was a coping mechinism)Kwin
