You know, it occurs to me that if JWs and exJWs were the only inhabitants of earth that the unhappy in the org would continue to grow in numbers until we had a situation not unlike that of the French or the Russians who revolted against the czars and the kings and the Marie Antoinettes. "Let them eat Swiss Miss Pudding." Or maybe: "Let them eat hoagies!" Edited to add: "Let them eat fruit bags??"

The cool thing though is that there would not have to be any blood shed. I mean short of some bloody noses because as far as I know Bethel is not heavily armed.

It's a whole lot more than nice to be validated by an elder even if he is an ex elder. So many times was I trivialized, discounted & dismissed by elders even when the circumstances were profound, dire and the stakes high.

Most of the elders I knew were very good people. They just had some very huge limits, bad rules and doctrines to operate under.

My dub mom wants to remarry

before she can though she needs my dad to admit to adultary.

they've been divorced for years but he has never remarried and has no plans too.. she says she's in love with a widowed brother but before they go any further she wants to be scriptually free.

she called my dad and asked him if he would help her out and he laughed and hung up the phone.

Here's a thought:

Your mother seems very close to this widower, right? Do you think she invites him over for dinner, etc. Could she be spending more than the allotted hours alone with him? Is she always chaperoned? Your father could maybe turn the tables on her and bust her and confront her with it. It matters not to the elders whether your mother was just having tea and crumpets and innocently playing footsies under the coffee table. All they care about is that she was alone with him for such and such a block of time.

I have been put through this same question barrage by my exhusband. What a bunch of weasels JWs can be when they want out of a marriage very badly. I don't have any sympathy for people who divorce for convenience sake and then whine to know if they are free so they can complete their evil plan which is to remarry the perfect JW mate and live happily ever after.

If widower is serious about marrying your ma, then let him go get some extra offices to clean or a second job and let them pay for a PI to get the goods on your dad. The way I see it is your mother has enough evidence. If I were her I'd just say to the brothers, look my ex has had several girlfriends. I am confident he has had sex with at least one of them. I'm getting married. Enough said. That's it. What is the worst that can happen to your mother? She gets dfd and then has to be reinstated? Does she not know her Jehovah is watching her and he knows she divorced your father for bogus reasons and will be held just as accountable for his adultery?

Weasels. Just a bunch of sleazy weasels.

. They have no clue what the real world is like or what it's like to truly suffer fear of losing jobs, houses, cars, children,insurance etc. or to work secular jobs.

Okay, I think I just figured out why these old men on the governing body don't have a crisis of conscience like Raymond Franz did. They probably know what they are teaching is BS but they fear they will end up like Ray, an elderly man having to sweat out a living...old men having to worry about the things mentioned in the above quote. Yeah, they tell us to "just do it!" because if we don't do it, their bread and butter dries up and they have to suck it up like the rest of us, the working stiffs. They end up outside the Garden Of Bethel amongst the rocky soil and thorns living by the sweat of their brows.

Now, likely most of you who have been out a while have this all figured out. For me though this is an epiphany. These gray fellows are no better than the Jim and Tammy Fayes or Robert Tiltonsof the world except that I think they draw the line at gold faucets and air conditioned dog houses.

why is it a social custom to say "congratulations" to a guy when his wife/gf has had/is having a baby?.

what has he done to deserve the sentiments?

all he's done is have an orgasm and spurt some semen into her?

Of course a good man is going to be thrilled about becoming a father and you are congratulating him on his happiness about becoming a father or that he and his (hopefully) beloved lady are going to have a child to love, cherish and raise. No, he isn't growing the child or doing the labor gig; but he is going to love the child and cherish being a father and coparent.

Tell mommie dearest to get with widower and hire a private investigator and find out for themselves if they want to know that badly. I'd also tell her that you have seen what has transpired between your father and her and that she is not innocent in this divorce. She needs to get that straight with your dad, you kids and her God. My grown children stand up to their father and to me when they think we are wrong. They don't let us by with anything. Nope, no pussyfooting around for my kids. I respect them for it 100%. Maybe my ex will listen to them one day, too.

Let's see: old guys who have nothing to worry about. Their room and board is paid for. Their cars and insurance are paid for. Their food is paid for. Their health insurance is paid for. Their clothes are paid for. Their vacations and conventions are paid for. Absolutely everything they need including utilities is paid for. They have lots of "friends" right there at their disposal. They don't have children to support. Most of them never had any children to raise. Basically they have life handed to them on a silver platter. It's easy for them to tell the R&F to just do it. They have no clue what the real world is like or what it's like to truly suffer fear of losing jobs, houses, cars, children,insurance etc. or to work secular jobs.

I kept them where ever I had them. I always felt love and empathy and puzzlement over dfings. I tried to give the person a loving smile or a note after their announcement. I wanted them to know that at least one person at the hall loved them very dearly no matter what.
