Suicide - How many do you know within the JWs

one interesting but truly tragic is the number of jwhovah's witnesses who commit suicie.. now i suspect that if a person commits suicide shortly before or after they are disfellowshipped then the elders would say that person wasn't a witness or that they had done something so terrible that they were too guilty to admit it and by their action of committing suicide they pretty much declared they were no longer a jw.. yup fancy talk to make sure any crap didn't fall on them.. so my question.. do you know of cases like this?

if so then can you answer a few more questions.. had this person been dfed or in real danger of being dfed or whatever the equivalent is if they were never baptized?.

When I was pretty new, 1990?, a young woman in our hall drove off to rmote location and shot herself in the gut with a shotgun. Her name was Laura. This was Fairfield, CA.

A JW relative of mine has tried many times by cutting, even successfully smuggling razors into the mental institute. Possible that being raped at Bethel may have had someting to do with this. If she lives past 50 it will be borderline miraculous as the prescription drugs she is on have trashed her organs.

I know many JWs that have admitted suicidal thoughts.

To be honest, I would venture to guess that *everyone* has pondered the thought or are not honest with themselves.

ok, so i politely let an elder in our cong know how i felt about the gossip and slander that has been levelled at me.. he has been pushing to find out how i feel about the events of the last few months.. i calmly replied: .

"well, i know that it was foretold that oppressive wolves would enter the flock and treat many harshly.

i stood up to such harshness against many in our cong, then i was turned on and had accusations levelled against me!

The last elder that "popped by" was told by me to his face that the organization is made up of mostly assholes...

He kinda chuckled and didn't pursue the subject!!

i saw this coming since my mother-in-law's funeral .... the congregation's "love-bombing" over my wife had its impact.

i watched her drawing closer and closer to her friends in the congregation.

then she decided she would attend the memorial.

Thanks for posting even if it was painful.

Quite a bit of good advice here.
I think looking at this as respectful and patiently may be the hardest, yet may yield the best results.

Don't stop her from attending, yet do not give your approval that this is somehow good.

Nothing has changed in the ORG except more videos for them to watch.

I don't think her return will stick if she has also seen behind the curtain. ( She knows things )
Listening to fake explanations and lies gets old if you know what they are.

Keep us updated and try to remain calm.

How many here gave up having a family for the sake of the "truth"?

this is a sensitive topic for many of us i know, but i am wondering how many here actually gave up the idea of having a family "in this system" for the sake of "kingdom activity or service"??.

you have all been an immense help to me as i have come to realize that this isn't the truth so i want to say a great big thank you!

what a crazy, emotional ride it is to finally face the truth about the doubts that i have carried for many years.
