  How does he not know how terrible he looks? - yeah, the blond hair with dark roots looks f**kin awful.

  Dying one's hair blond doesn't work for most people.
  

  It would work, say, if you had fair eyebrows but naturally dark hair, 'cause then your dyed blond hair would match your naturally fair eyebrows.

  I also think it looks great on black people (think Wesley Snipes in Demolition Man, lol).

  But on Roy Devons it looks crap. And besides, didn't guys dying their hair blond go out of fashion in the late 90s?

  Elfdalian - a minority language spoken in Sweden

  just found an interesting little video (älvdalska förklarad = 'elfdalian explained').. elfdalian is a separate language spoken in dalarna, sweden by a few thousand people.. in swedish, the letter w is rarely used, and when it is it is pronounced as v. but elfdalian has w and it's pronounced just like english w. so, 'white' is vit in swedish, but wait in elfdalian, pronounced like english white.. elfdalian also has the letter ð, ð, which features not in swedish but in icelandic and faeroese.

  Just found an interesting little video (Älvdalska förklarad = 'Elfdalian explained').

  @Stan - yeah, Will Self sometimes rubs me up the wrong way, too. Although I liked him when he was on Shooting Stars, lol.

  He makes some points but he's wrong when he says JWs view salvation as pre-ordained. Er, no they don't. They view salvation as dependent on faithfulness to Jehovah. Sin repeatedly and don't ask for forgiveness ... and you're gonna be killed at Armageddon, even if you are one of the anointed.

  Also, I don't agree with him when he calls the JWs 'infantile'. Misguided, yes, but infantile? Nah.

  The good thing about Will Self is he's an eccentric Brit who does his own thing and says whatever he wants.

  richard dawkins revealed that he celebrates christmas on radio four's today programme.. here is is quoted as saying: .

  'i am perfectly happy on christmas day to say merry christmas to everybody,' dawkins said.

  'i might sing christmas carols - once i was privileged to be invited to kings college, cambridge, for their christmas carols and loved it.

  No, there's no real hypocrisy going on.

  Christmas is a fusion of cultural and religious ideas.

  People can celebrate Christmas regardless of whether Jesus existed or not.
