The people telling you that you're too fat, ugly, dirty or uncool are after exactly the same thing the Jehovah's Witnesses are: Your money.

Hi Notalone and welcome!
You'll find that most of us atheists are friendly, cuddly, sorts of people! I no more want to convince you to believe what I believe than I would like you to convince me what you believe.
We are all united here in supporting each other in escaping from the crumbling ruin of false religion that is the Jehovah's Witnesses.

Contempt of court, case in San Diego county really disgusts me!
by Crazyguy inthis case has to be talked about by ever awake jw every apostate everyone.
this case because they refuse to hand over documents the court already knows they have because they handed them over before but heavily redacted, is the icing on the cake!
this case shows thier evil plain and simple.

But they can't settle out of court now can they? The unredacted document has to be produced for the punitive action to stop, is that correct?
Or could the society pay millions of dollars to settle this quietly now? Surely the court can't allow a list of child abusers to remain undisclosed now that it's aware of it's existence?

Does anyone have links to media coverage or court reports of this? My JW mum followed the ARC debacle, so I could draw her attention to this as well as long as it wasn't from "questionable" sources.

Is wife beginning to turn around?
by StarTrekAngel inso some may have read the long and boring post about our last vacation and some of the things that my wife came to tell me during our time away.
i am adding the link here but i can summarize it for time's sake.. https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/5768475763015680/vacation-time-reality-closing-up-on-my-wife.
in a nutshell, right before we left, we found out of a jw couple we know well.

"whatever good is there is only meant to support the bad, not to help anyone."
That's a great point!
Hope everything works out for you. The signs are positive.

Hi, I was MattH on JWR. I actually registered on here ages ago, but lost the website when I moved jobs \ house and JWR was the site I found instead.
I'd just like to say that we are all on the same team here. Hugs to all involved. JWR was great because of the people and the people remain unchanged.
Remember what Nietzsche said: "That which does not kill you makes you stronger."
Well, except for old age. And debilitating diseases..
Tell you what, ignore Nietzsche, he was a bell-end.
WIll pop in here now and then now that I've been reminded of it's existence.

Would you like to live for ever on earth?
by fulano ini was discussing this topic with two friends of mine, ex jws, a few nights ago.
i think it would be boring after a while.
you can't smoke, have to drink with moderation (difficult in europe with all the wines).

Yep! I'd even want to live on the earth forever as it is right now. That's why it's such a powerfully persuasive carrot. The earth is awesome!
But then, my interest is in Entomology. Reckon I could spend 1,000 years on the UK insects alone. Then by the time I'd worked my way through every country in the world... I'd have forgotten the one I began with and could start again!
After a few million years of that new species entirely would have evolved as well... it's a never ending process!
Mind you, I wouldn't enjoy the coronal expansion of the sun in 500 million years time that will engulf the earth and kill everything. By that time, though, I hope that the ants would have evolved intelligence and I could help them build a space ark to transport all their insect cousins to a new planet.
