Hello Simon,
The shutdown was set for December but some has been trying to backup the files. Doing the backup files were finally corrupted, so we shall start any new forum from scratch...
We doubt very much to recover any data.
There is no plan now for them to take back their decision...

spain bethel sent a letter recently last oct 3 interpreting that no elder or sm should request a certificate of sexual offenses as other churches or persons in contact with kids.
again jw.org interprets the law to their behalf.. a group of elders in madrid has sent this letter to ask clarification !!.

For clarification, the info I received is that the letter involves a group of active elders.
As in Australia, this kind of situation might have been avoided instructing to obtain the "Certificate of no-molester", but JW are always upon the truth and law.
According to the info received, calls from elders to Spanish Bethel are transferred to an automatic message system where they can record their request. No more direct info... we will contact you later !

The fine if you don't obtain the Certificate is 6000 €.
I got info that many elders started to request it and the the Ministry of a justice has contacted Spain Bethel to confirm the letter dated Oct 3rd.
JW must follow the law and no child molester or sexual harasser should be allowed in the congregation.
