Simple answer to that one, as long as it is not in conflict with Bible principles (Acts 5:29) the WTS has ALWAYS happily complied with whatever "worldly" governments have "imposed" on them as per Romans 13:1.

This religion is already in conflict with Bible principles. For,it is against bible principle to allow for incest, molestation and any other sort of abuse toward a child. Why then have they not complied with their own teachings about sexually unnatural practises with regard to children...?

Also, it was not so long ago that a JW wife could not divorce her husband for his bestiality. If she did, she was up for a disfellowshipping if she remarried.

They are covering up "crimes" against society as a whole and against their own children and young adults.

NittyGritty. How does an eight year old child feel when no one gives her a fair trial?

How does a young teenager feel when she still can't get a fair trial, due to being called insane and wicked and a liar?

Or, how about when you are still a teenager, but a bit older now and you can't get anyone to help you because the elders think your father is a great guy?

Or another ministerial servant is able to stop anywhere he wants and grope you at the ripe old age of 11?

This commission is being conducted fairly with documents subpoenaed straight out of WTBTS archives. These are the documents that these elders wrote and signed off on. The other documents are from head quarters at the Australian Bethel.

How can a person look at their own signature then try to convince this commission that they don't remember them? Trust me. They do, and they have had them at their disposal all along. The mandated practice that is being shown by these elders is this......Tell the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Unless Theocratic Warfare is necessary. So help me God

Please don't think that. They have had two years to develop their thoughts or defences and they did not.

Every elder who is there has been given the statements from the victims. This is so they can have a good idea as to what is in them.......This elder chose "not to", he didn't want to read anything she had said. He seemed to think that it made his testimony more valid, but it doesn't. Indeed, it is seen as rather contemptuous of these elders for not taking the situation/crime, seriously.

The elders knew this was going to happen back in 2013, they could have prepared for this commission, yet for some strange reason, they choose to come in and blunder. I think that the Tool lawyer has something to do with this........just a suspicion.

this australian investigation is astounding to watch.. the elders clearly don't see child abuse as criminal, if a jw confessed to murder, the police would immediately be called.

yet child rape is a spiritual issue..... ridiculous.. this is what happens when 7 window cleaners lead a bunch of dangerously loyal, ignorant middle aged men ...... in managing 7 million people..

It was wonderful to have this assholes face all over the media as he completely distorted and fumbled around questions from the questioners. He was a perfect perfect example of the lack of morality or conscience. This is what I have enjoyed........watching them squirm, then being forced by cutting persistence.......to answer up!!!!

Do you think this will go to good old jwgorg as a prime example of good Christian conduct? A prime example to the followers of how superior their ethics are? A good teaching tool for Bethelites?

so i'm wondering why the wtbts is allowing eldubs to appear in these inquiries in australia??

The Royal Commission also assists in establishing grounds for compensation. Legislation is what comes out of a hearing like this. They have far reaching powers.

Today I reversed preached to JW's about the scandal in Australia

so today a friend recommended that i ask the witnesses about the news in australia.

i am in mexico, in a city called mazatlan.. two weeks ago i talked with some jw's on the cart about the septuagint and the different bible versions.

so we had had a decently amicable conversation back then (i have never admitted i was a jw).. so today i saw them again, same place, same time.

Perhaps this comment was more about the general lying nature that is instilled into the JW psyche, and when under pressure to actually tell the truth, that person is under the hammer, fear happens. It's then that a person is so vulnerable to threats and the like. I do believe that the world view is changing though........just wish it would hurry up.

My sister has lied outright about child abuse. I watched in horror as she and her husband did it! They told me that it was not good to muddy the name of God and it was for the greater protection of the organization. Mind you, they are of the older sort of class, but still.......when confronted with absolute statements they made, they outright lied. It was an incredible experience watching them do it.

She had been fond of saying that... "Jehovah hates a liar"... It used to be one of her pet statements followed by her lovely ........Kingdom of Heaven ...look of righteousness.

This is what I have been waiting to hear in the RC. I have been waiting for someone to introduce this part of JW thinking and lying. I completely agree with you. They can lie with ease in the name of "Jehovah" and it's done so often and in such a devious way.

Royal Commission....don't worry it will not go away...

i need to let you know that here in australia the royal commission is alive and well.

people are aware of it and whilst it may not be on the front page of your newspaper, it will end up there at some stage.

although the elders are trying to squirm out of any culpability they are inevitably high jacked by their own arrogant assertions when they start to feel a degree of safety and ease in the questioning.

JWs trying hard to hide in obscurity right now

on other discussion boards where active jws participate i notice them deflecting questions about the royal commission in australia by bringing up child abuse statistics of other churches, ostensibly to demonstrate that there is nothing news worthy to see here... "move along!".

they are trying to make this story disappear into obscurity, irrelevance, as if it's just part and parcel of big institutional life, particularly of the religious nature.

oh, now they compare themselves to every other religion on the block?.

steve2 I did understand what you were saying and I do see you were not saying anything about the GB and it's verbose attacks on religion. No problem with what you said at all.

I think I went on a bit of rant. Scratch that.......I did go off on a bit of a rant, for things are tense here....So please don't feel that I was countering what you had to say in your' post.
