Update on "helping hand"

  Thanks to eveyone who responded with encouraging comments! I had a great conversation with the Red Cross today regarding hosting refugees. As of this morning, they were massively mobilizing for immediate life saving but will be puting up another hotline and advertizing for sponsors/hosts. If anyone is interested in hosting one or more refugees, you can get onto a list now by calling 1-800-helpnow.

  It is best if you have had a background check in the past year as it will be required. Luckily we are licensed foster parents with clearance as a "safe house", so we are on the list and likely will have a couple with us within the week.

  This would be neat, being able to help someone, who has nothing, start new, in a beautiful state, with a clean fresh start. I think you are wonderful!! My parents took care of foster children. Adults would be so much different. hl

  Thanks for keeping us updated, and for the current information regarding the Red Cross, I`ll be more than happy to pass this on in my local community.

  Preparing to move unfortunately ourselves this month, but we are trying to find other ways to help.
