{{{ warm hugs for all involved and all who involved themselves }}}
I captured this gem:
...focus on Christ...
Hmmmm, well, after reading Blondies WT study articles every week, I'd say this is far from what the WTBTS focuses on!
What I just don't get though is that this guy will be freely let back out into the community where the potential for him to abuse again is high. It just shouldn't be that we, as parents, have to worry about this guy coming near our children, anywhere in the community.
I'd send this case to O'Reilly at FOXNEWS, due to his high intensity involvement with getting abusers the highest form of punishment, yet I get the feeling he won't touch it. He hasn't touched any emails I've sent regarding WT abuse in the last four years. Not a-one. Perhaps a campaign to him might work [ [email protected] ].

sf,
Yes I think it is a great case for O'Reilly.
Why?
Because even with minimum sentencing laws as we have in the Canadian Criminal Code these Judges are still, thanks to the jurisprudence, allowed to reduce the "minimum" sentence to what they see fit!
Take care,

((( Vicki ))) Congradulations on your victory. One giant step in your recovery process, and an even bigger step toward the freedom of so many sexually abused people at the hands of JW-ism.
When I was 16 a close friend was found with her stepfather. He had been having sexual relations with her for 7 years! SHE was DF'd. He checked himself into a mental hospital and escaped DF'ing and only got reproved! He had also started in on her younger sister by then. This was 1973 and never became an issue. It hurt so much to not be able to talk to her when she came to the hall after disfellowshipping. I would smile at her anyway and mouth "hello".
My dad sat on that committee and was the sole opposer of DFing her.
What is hard for people in the legal system to realize is that the adult person standing before them was not a victim as an adult. That is why people at SNAP wear a photo of themselves around their neck at SNAP conferences and at media situations.
Vicky was a child when her father raped her not an adult woman.
I'm glad the case is getting press coverage and that even if JWs don't understand that her father is a criminal and is still a danger, that the Canadian public will.

Do you mind doing the honors of emailing him the case then...especially the ultimate outcome of the lousy 2 yr community service 'sentence'? I would certainly appreciate it. And remember, to keep it pithy, as he suggests when emailing him.
Thank you kindly.

Unfortunately, remember that he doesn't have the warmest of feelings for Canada, since his employer (Fox News Channel) has been refused the right to broadcast there.
Well, let's hope he can put aside his personal views on Canada and focus on the disgrace of this pathetic sentence. Because if he doesn't, his "we're lookin' out for you" is just a sham. But then again....{I digress}.
Thanks for the heads-up though.

I think Vicki is the bravest person I have ever known to come forward and pursue this to it's rightful conclusion. I think he should have gotten more hard time, too. Bravo, Vicki!
