    dorayakii:

"Satan was telling the truth, that they would become like God and know good and bad... Its not much of a lie when what you say comes true... "

Satan lied they did not become like God...if they had they would gotten themselves out of the mess. They became like God in one aspect ...knowing good and bad.

"In Gen 3:22 Jehovah admits that by saying "oh dear, they ate the fruit and have become like one of us knowing good and bad..." just like the Snake said... "

Genesis 3:22 (King James Version) And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever.
23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

God drove them out so that they would not get to the tree of life.

"If the tree was going to bring death, why was it called the Tree of Knowledge and not the Tree of Death..."

The tree of Knowledge meant the good and evil knowlegde but death came because of DISOBEDIENCE.

" And why was Jehovah still worried in Gen 3:22 that they might live forever by eating the Tree of Life, when he had already said they would die by eating the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge... "

Because if they got to the tree of Life they would have been able to live forever then. So God banished them from the Garden of Eden.

Also, "why didn't Adam and Eve take from the Tree of Life first, THEN from the Tree of Knowledge?... we'd all be living forever with perfect knowledge"

Because they already had eternal life but they sinned by disobeying God. They did not have the knowledge to know good and evil. That's why the serpent took advantage of their innocence. The tree of Knowledge held that wisdom of God (perfect knowledge).

When God said that it was true. After Adam and Eve disobeyed God they started to die.

Hibi dear, you may put this interpretation on the scriptures, but that's all it is, a mere interpretation. The bible doesn't say "in the day that you eat from it you will start to die"... it says "in the day that you eat from it you will positively die". The serpent says, 'God KNOWS you will not die from eating the fruit, but you will become like God knowing good and bad '

Later YHWH proves that he really DID know by saying 'Here man HAS become like one of us in knowing good and bad... now in order that he may not live forever, lets hide the Tree of Life from him'

The actual words there written in black and white, tell you that God lied, then tried to cover up his tracks by removing them from the Tree of Life. It may seem nice to try and twist everything to try and make it say what you want it to say, but if thats what really happened, don't you think God would have made it a little clearer.

The tree of Knowledge meant the good and evil knowlegde but death came because of DISOBEDIENCE.

According to the Gnostics, YHWH the evil God told them not to eat the fruit because they will die... they did not know what the fruit was for, so they obediently ignored it. As soon as the creator godess Sophia came in the form of the snake, and told them they will not die, and that its real purpose was the aquisition of Knowledge, they realised that the sanke was truthful and obediently partook of the fruit. YHWH was deceptive in wanting them to be ignorant of their pitiful condition (their "nakedness"). Obedience to YHWH, according to the Gnostics, would have left humankind mere innocent robots with no sence of morality.

They did not have the knowledge to know good and evil

So again why does YHWH say "the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil"? You must admit, YHWH is acting in a weird way here.
To Adam and Eve: "If you eat this Tree of Knowledge, you will NOT gain knowledge, you will die" To himself: "Damn, they ate the Tree of Knowledge and now HAVE gained knowledge... oh shit, i forgot about the Tree of Life... lets get rid of that too". All in all i think the whole story is superstitious foolishness borrowed from the Babylonians and Sumerians anyway, but if you were to take it literally, the Gnostic view sure makes more sense in the context.
