All 309 people aboard a jet that overshot a runway and burst into flames at Pearson International Airport Tuesday survived the ordeal, according to fire officials on the scene.

There were 14 minor injuries, however.

Oh...folks, if you want to know what's going on in Canada, try a Canadian source of news:

And yes, to reconfirm, all passengers and crew members (Air France Flight 358) are accounted for and: ALIVE

I'm very relieved, considering there were Severe Thunderstorms looming overhead and around Pearson Internation Airport (4:00 p.m. approx.) at the time.

A success story. Minor injuries. No one died.

I've become kinda complacent about listening to the cabin demonstration. Maybe this is a wakeup call

Hopefully the captain will be more careful with his hand-brake turns also.

I just spoke to my boss, who lives not too far from Pearson Airport in Toronto. He was on Hwy 401 driving home (I had just met him for coffee at 2:00 o'clock this afternoon) and he told me he was headed home. He said it was horrific because there was a very concentrated band of severe thunderstorms moving across the Toronto area with really high winds, pounding rains and some hail. Then you had all the smoke billowing out from the plane and he said he thought terrorists had attacked at first.......it only happened about 2 or 3 minutes before he reached that stretch of the highway near the airport, because the traffic wasn't too bad yet.

Thank god no one was killed!!!!!

Wow, I saw it on the news before I went to bed and imagined there would be a number of deaths being reported when I woke up. TO have none is a real testament to the crew and emergency services.
