Does the WTS acknowledge evolution?

Seattleniceguy I had seen this once before and forgot about it. This is so true. My brother in law is muslim and believes in creation but is not young earth. He believes the fossil layers prove that allah created different animals at different points in time. The bible says nothing about god creating more animals after genesis as far as I know. What would admitting to evolution do to the wts doctrines?

So SNG what you are saying is the WTS in the Insight book, is tacitly admitting Noah and his family did not have to go and collect male and females from the 800,000 plus species of insect and put them in the ark?

It is true that the small number of creatures they list could produce the millions of species we have today -- but only if evoultion is not only a real force, but one that acts at hyper speed.

I enjoy asking JW's what the predator animals ate when they emerged from the ark.

I caution them to remember the life cycle of each animal had to get up to speed with successive births to repopulate the "prey" niche without leading to extinctions.

The average JW shrugs off all logical implications.

The Governing Body likes Rube Goldberg explanations anyway. (rubegoldberg.com)

Another fun thing to do is to get a wall chart of actual developments in civilization through the ages and put post-it notes underneath with the Watchtower Chronology versions beneath it.

    The dissonance is astonishing!

It's hard for me to believe how much double think JW's do. They can be scientifically proven wrong, logically proven wrong, or even spiritually proven wrong and yet they'll still believe with all the fervor in the world (unless they have some form of intelligence locked in them). It's just amazing, makes 1984 seem all too possible.

I mean it is a fact that pumas and african lions cant breed together, they are different species, but the are both from the cat design. So humans and apes are from the primate design, we cant breed, so doesnt that make us cousins the same way that the lion and puma are cousins according to wts thinking?

In perhaps 30 years when evolution can't be in anyway disputed as plain fact, the wtbts will get "new light" about it when their shame factor reaches 11/10. The scary thing is that the jws will praise and look up to their 'source' for providing this hyperintelligent food as part of their heavenly nourishment at the proper time.
