Do you think that you have problems that just about no other people have?

I think that I'm chemically sensitive to alot of stuff. I like living in a pure environment where nothing will iritate me like hostile scents, and strong perfumes. Cinnamon will burn me up, as well as pepper. Just someone chewing cinnamon gum, I'll have to back up 50 feet not to smell and taste it. Then my tongue will be literally on fire, and then whatever i eat, even if a little spicy will be as if its extremely spicey....just because i was initially irritated by something strong like the person chewing cinnamon gum or a person putting lots of spice on his food, if I'm very close to it.

Just a perfume worn by someone who splashed too much on, will irritate me for hours...

I can drink Coke, but not Pepsi, Maybe they put cinnamon in it...lol

If I shampoo with any ordinary scented shampoo, I'll taste the perfume in it all day, as if I licked it. Then tongue, mouth, throat and even stomach will burn because I used scented shampoo on me. Thats why I get very upset when a company discontinues a product that I can use without any problem.... Toothpaste is one other example...I use crest icy mint toothpaste....I can't use any other crest toothpaste... I keep a stockpile of products here, just incase they discontinue something one day...

Even some beers will cause damage to my tongue....So thats why when I find a beer that is ok for me, I only drink that.....I didnt try the free beer at the apostofest just because of that possibility of irritation.

Jehovah will cure all that....if I go to all the apostofests :)

    I was kidding!

Ok I am here to confess...... I told Wanderlustguy....now I will tell the world.

I have a problem with Midgets. Yes I said Midgets. Now don't get me wrong I went to school with 3 of them and Carrie was one of my good friends. I even told her of my problem and she laughed at me.

Ok....I don't know what it is but when I see one in front of me...I want to push them to the ground or trip them. Then scream out " I won ".

Please don't be mad at me....I love them it is just a sudden urge that I have. It's like tourette's.

Lots of folks have sensitivities, and we are all different. For example, if I get onto an elevator or a bus, and someone is wearing the cologne "Poison", as soon as it reaches my nose, I get a pain in my eye like a needle, and then everything starts to go fuzzy. The next step is passing out. I had to get off the bus on several occasions because of this.

I think of it as the 'canary in a coal mine' syndrome (that's my own expression for it). Our world is so overloaded with chemicals, that some of us are showing the effects. We are like the canaries the miners used to take down in the mines. When the canary died, they knew there was a poisonous gas leak they couldn't smell, and they GOT OUT! Unfortunately, we don't have the option to 'leave', so we just have to 'deal with it'.

Jh ~ There are a lot of scented products that I avoid as well. Perfume = instant headache for me. Smart to stockpile what works well for you.

I remember, years ago, giving a hand to a brother cleaning floors with strong industrial liquid soaps.

At first I didn't know why I became irritated and sick and missed meetings, but then I realized that the strong industrial soap used for cleaning floors was the source of my problem.

My irritation went away a few days later, when I stopped cleaning those floors with that soap.

But now with experience, I know how to wiggle my way around most irritants.....

By the way, if we know ourselves very well, it's sometimes better than going to the doctor for a problem which he has absolutly no clue how to cure...
