Okay, y'all, that's the hot discussion going on in Valis' kitchen right now. We've had a great meal of fried trout, hushpuppies, potato balls, FRESH peach pie, cookies, cole slaw, and a bunch of beer (of course!) and other liquid libations. So far we've seen Big Tex and cruzanheart, junction-guy & family, Elsewhere, Travis & CSG (of course!), Arrowstar, IP_SEC, Rabbit, Megadude -- very cool crowd, I must say! And some of Travis' friends who are kind enough to include us ex-JW's in their group. Great way to spend a VERY hot Dallas afternoon! Nina

That maybe where the idea came from but do you really believe a man because he had long hair could be strong enough to bring down a whole temple?

PS: Do you think he has 17 virgins in heaven right now?

No -- it wouldn't be much of a heaven if they STAYED virgins, now would it?

    LOL @ thread title.

Only at an apostofest would this be a topic of conversation. Nice to see everyone there. Met IP SEC. Turned out we knew some of the same people back in the dubs. I think he will make a fine addition to the deplorable Texas apostate cabel. Valis was the hostest with the mostest. Lots of beer and his tasty trout. Catholic School Girl showed me a lot of pics of where she and Valis go fishing every year and it is a beautiful place: trees, clear river water and lots and lots of trout. Of course, it helps when your fishing spot is a few hundred yards from a fish hatchery. I can't imagine a sweeter spot to go fishing.

Yeah we covered a lot of territory in that conversation in the kitchen, didn't we? Thanks for your kind words Mega. I really do appreciate it.

Thanks to our Beloved District Overbeer for his hospitality! Great trout, and the hush puppies were fantastic. I just wish we could have stayed later, but we had to scoot home to get the kids.

I wish we could have been there. I had a photoshoot that afternoon as well as plans with Mozz. We scheduled them that day because we knew the fish fry was on Saturday. LOL I'm glad y'all had fun. Next time, we'll have to have one at our place.

katiekitten, I understand your confusion! We own a hush puppie (basset hound) named Moose. But hushpuppies are also little balls of fried cornmeal & spices that originated with the cowboys of the Old West, who would give them to their dogs sitting around the campfire, saying "hush, puppies!" Or something charming like that. In any case, they are a delicious accompaniment to fried fish and that wonderful tartar sauce Valis made.
