This chart succinctly describes the differences between education, advertising, propaganda, indoctrination, and thought control.

My own assessment of the Society, using this chart, is as follows:

    Relationship & Exchange
Authoritarian & hierarchical but also consensual & contractual
    Indoctrination

    Deceptiveness
    Infrequently intentionally deceptive, often selective.
    Indoctrination

    Methods
    Coercive compliance (punishment) condoned.
    Indoctrination

    Goals
(I'm not sure about this one.)

    A cohesive & effective group?
    Indoctrination

    or

Perpetuation of the group for money or power?
    Thought Control

    or

    Sale of product or service?
    Advertising

    Hey Anchor,

You got a problem dude? This is a discussion forum. If you want to then how about you go and stare at a blank wall?

I have done that enough in the meetings for over 30 years!! Perhaps you need more of it.

    Hey MD,

You're so right! I forgot The Big One:

    fear of the world

    oh, and

fear that we stumble someone out of the Truth - bloodguilt
fear that we stumble someone from coming into the Truth - bloodguilt
fear of being labeled irregular in service
fear of being labeled irregular in meeting attendance
    fear of being labeled independent

Lord, the list is almost endless. At first, new ones don't recognize the fears/phobias. After you've been "in" a short time, the fear indoctrination starts.....and never stops.

And the fear of never being good enough. That's a Big One too.
