The Truth Hurts The Most

The policy on fractions was presented in June 2000 and repeated last year in a WT study article. I do think they are trying to gradually change the blood policy. You would enjoy this website by JWs and ex-JWs, many who serve(d) on JW Hospital Liaison Committees.

If they are going to phase it out I wonder if they could do it by soon, one of my parents is having serious cancer surgery without blood!. I just don't see that they could ever back down on this - the light can't shine that bright can it?

I just don't get how it's ok to die for your brothers, but to give or receive a gift of blood ["life"] is going to get your ticket stamped forever?

I like the "puzzled" approach advocated by Blondie. Express a bit of puzzlement about an area of doubt and state that you're sure there's a simple explanation, then ask your question. This is important because to the JWs, it's the motive for asking questions that is all important. So, if you ask from a position of looking up to them - as opposed to pointing out errors and/or contradictions - they may have a greater tolerance for questions . The stroked ego can be an amazingly tolerant thing.

Well it's not too hard to act confused about their blood stand when I AM CONFUSED. I mean it makes NO SENSE MEDICALLY. Why one part but not another, yet another is ok. Weird!

But they won't be changing the blood policy anytime soon....phasing it out will take 20 or more years.

I was thinking in the future to get someone or myself toi make a movie and base it on a true story, I'll just have to hunt down an ex-jw who is willing and their life story on the organistion really shows how deadly the religion is...

Thats a way to express it, I also love to songwrite so I'm thinking of writing songs related to ex-jws or jws getting abused and too afraid to speak up.

Just in peace not war.... to stop this jw religion from harming people.

I can relate to most posts here. My experience is that:-

1]Most younger dubs will simply deny that anything is wrong or may be questioned. Most older ones will agree with the queries and find fault too but still stick with it. They may say we "Rely on Jehovah" and just hang on in there because they have not the courage to question what they have believed so long

2]Issues such as the blood issue are not understood as well inside the org as by those of us on the net. If mentions specific fractions or Polyheme their eyes glass over and they say they would have to ask an elder or look it up. They have an ostrich, head in the sand mentality and hope it never happens to them . Deep down I suspect that many just know the must not take blood and leave it at that

I find that a direct statement contrary to the teaching meets just a blanket rebuttal and usually a statement that questions my sanity

Even the Witnesses are getting sick and tired of defending the indefensible.
