I'm sure he's an arrogant prick like all the other ones. He's probably plotting how he can ruin peoples lives and destroy a happy family right now. I'm sure he's great.

Well, if he is, he sure didn't start out that way. If you don't know the guy, or at least seen him in action, leave the probably's at the door, please.

Did you honestly expect an objective answer to this question?

Possibly. I knew the guy before, and he was the genuine article; worked like a dog as a pioneer, served in backwater hamlets to help where the need was great, etc. Now that he is a CO, I am wondering if the old expression "Power corrupts, Absolute Power corrupts absolutely" will prove true as well.

Sounds like a rarity to me but I suppose plenty start off with genuine intentions then they slowly realise they cant change anything and so the conform.
