Why in heck can't the politicians in DC see that they need to quit trying to take over the world and fix OUR country?

We have the same problem in the UK. We have enough money to bomb the hell out of other countries and kill thousands of innocents for their leader's faults but can we clean a hospital, fix a school roof, have enough policemen to patrol the streets and keep us safer, like hell we can't.
Bunch of dipsticks politicians are!

Maybe they're blind ( don't WANT to see ) to the real needs of the people, i.e. health care, enviormental issues, better education or is it that they just care about the bottom line ?

Yeah but my question would be how many trillions of dollars a year is Iran spending to bomb the US?

I think these reports should be taken with a grain of salt. From a civil engineer's perspective things are going downhill but from another person's it may be significantly different. The categories used for the evaluation are physical and environmental aspects: roads, rails, schools, wastewater. But it leaves out non-tangible aspects such as freedom of religion, freedom to marry, freedom to travel, etc, etc, etc... If people are willing to get on a raft to swim miles away from their homeland to come here then obviously we have something that other nations do not offer. To be fair though I think domestic issues are getting the short shrift in this country compared to the attention we're giving to our liberation (or occupation ...however you see it) of other countries and its going to consume us for a generation. Still, its nice to see women in Iraq and Afghanistan benefiting.

Have you forgotten 9-11? Have you ever heard of Woprld War I, World War II. We could most likly be talking German or Japanese. THese two countries have become democratic and so called friends because we helped conqured the totalitarian governments.
Would you rather live under the Rules of Saddam or the USA? This may not be the best government but could you divise one better?
Well,we have the right to bitch about our government because we are free, and even in a Theocracy the R&F can not question the authorities.
Enjoy what you have and go out and vote and vote against taxes. LOL
