Just a recipe to share if u want to try something a little different. I made it up - and we tested the trial for supper - very tasty! Wifey and I enjoyed it - but the grandaughter didn't like it! {and wifey doesn't like brussel sprouts} Sweet and Sour Almond Brussel Sprouts 20 Brussel Spouts 2 Tbsn Balsamic Vinegar 2 Tbsn Pure Extra Virgin Olive Oil 2 Tbsn Any flavor jam [I used blackberry] handful of Roasted almonds 1/4 pound diced ham 2 slices [diced] onion Clean and split in half the Sprouts, and onion. Boil for 5 minutes - then simmer for another 8 or 10 in a saucepan with water covering fully. Cook till tender and crisp. Drain well. In a saucepan, mix balsamic vinegar, olive oil, jam and ham. Simmer for a couple minutes then add the sprouts and onion, stirring well. Heat till well blended and hot. Remove from fire and add the almonds to suit. Put chow mien noodles over the individual servings. makes about 3 servings. No responsibility claimed, or promises.

There are few of "God's" food creations I hate more than brussel sprouts (ancient translation for mini cabbage that tastes like a fart/burp).lol
I detest liver, brussel sprouts and lima beans- of course my mom would always serve all three together- I'm traumatized!
Anyway, I will try the recipe as I would love to become a brussel sprout "apostate".

ooohhh I need to try this... I LOVE Brussel Sprouts.
I usually just steam em and then pour some lemon butter over them...*sigh* yum yum yum

I'm sorry AK-Jeff. Brussel Sprouts are one of those foods you either love, or hate. Like oysters.
For me, I will try any food more than once to make sure I really don't like it. So far I truly detest snails, and brussel sprouts. To borrow a word from Brummie ***blerk!***

Mmm....I lurve Brussels sprouts. Don't cook overlong, add some salt and a pinch of sugar. Boiled up with chestnuts, yummy!
