On a post somewhere, I saw reference to a group called Witnesses for Jesus - or Witnesses reformed for Jesus -or something like that. The post mentioned that the group holds an annual conference in Pa in October every year.

Can anyone tell me about the group - and the actual name? I think it sounded like it was made up of mostly ex-witnesses.

    Any help?

I had plans to go this past October, but things changed at the last minute. Sure hope to get there this year.

    WHY was PFO founded?

PFO was founded to provide Christians with material to help them know why they believe what they believe. Only then can they fully defend their faith when confronted by a Jehovah?s Witness, Mormon or other cultist.

    Kind of ironic isn't it?

They forget to mention atheists, agnostics and skeptical scholars. Or are they included in the 'cultist' classification?

From what I've seen, PFO's ministry is aimed mainly at offering refutations from the evangelical viewpoint of Christian-type cults (like JW's and Mormons) and aberrant doctrines within Christianity (such as word-faith, prosperity gospel, extreme charismatic, etc.). To the best of my knowledge they do not provide many materials (if any) aimed at atheists and skeptics. There are other ministries that focus on such arguments; apparently PFO sees their calling differently.
