I noticed in the Article that was studied on Sunday February 13, 2005 an interesting point. At least interesting to me.

Paragraph 15 states in part: " They acknowlege that riches can make life comfortable, but they know the wealth does nothing for their everlasting future". Please note the use of the term everlasting future (like after a ressurection), and not everlasting life are used.

Also in Paragraph 15 it states: " When a Christian dies, the only thing of real value that he possesses is his relationship with Jehovah and with Jesus Christ"

Here they did not talk about if a christian dies or living in into the paradise, but when they die. I think that this is an evidence of the WT shifting away from the idea of living through to the paradise, since the 1914 thing has gone up in smoke, and who knows how long the "generation" could be. They are telling people to be prepared to die in this system of things.

This will be one of the articles that would be referenced in the future when they say that "We never told you that you would live into the new system". This goes along with "We never told you the end would come in 1975", or "the generation would be a maximum of 70-80 years after 1914", etc.

Perhaps the concept that "Millions Living will never die" is slowly being changed.

Here are some quotes from my collection that I found interesting and it seems that the quotes promote two different world views.

?All of us are aging, and life?s end is approaching. That is not fatalistic. Dying is a fact of life.? (Save Life WTBTS 1990 p.23)

?How Long Can You Live?? (The Watchtower, Nov. 15, 1993, p.1) ?So, then, why can we be so sure that you can live forever in paradise on earth? Why can we believe that everlasting life is not just a dream?? (Live Forever WTBTS 1989, p.7)

?All of us are aging, and life?s end is approaching. That is not fatalistic. Dying is a fact of life.? (Save Life WTBTS 1990 p.23)

Jehovah Remembers the Sick and the Elderly"
"The sick and the elderly will at times find it hard to hide their
frustration. Many have cherished their hope of living to survive the great
tribulation, and now they feel caught up in a race with time, a race that
they do not feel sure they will win."
    (The Watchtower, August 1, 1993, p.27-8)

"Many who had hoped to be among the 'millions'
who would never die have indeed died."
    (The Watchtower, Feb. 15, 1995, p.9)

I suppose its more doubletalk from the governing body to keep their followers confused. They are probably trying to slowly wean them from expecting the "New System" to come soon, and getting them to focus on being faithful and not relying on times and dates. Perhaps the teachings will lean more to "be faithful until death and then you will find your reward"????? It just seems like they have to scramble to come up with a new way of thinking to keep brainwashing the masses into being happy in their" service to Jehovah".

"They acknowlege that riches can make life comfortable, but they know the wealth does nothing for their everlasting future".

In other words, be sure to include the Watchtower Society in your will.

"When a Christian dies, the only thing of real value that he possesses is his relationship with Jehovah and with Jesus Christ"

In other words, be sure to be loyal to God's organization (as represented by the WT Society here on earth) until you die.

You'll be taken care of later.

There is just a couple of little problems that Jehovah's Witnesses face should the Governing Body of Jehovah's Christian Witnesses decide that faithfulness until death to the organisation will result in a resurrection into a Paradise of everlasting life.

All active Jehovah's Witnesses should ask themselves the following:

    What if.....

Jesus was right when He said He is The Way, The Truth and The Life. No one comes to the Father except through Him and not an organisation such as the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses or the Pope of the Roman catholic Church.

    What if...

The Bible accounts are correct in that those who deny the Christ will be denied by Him. Denial includes refusing to accept the free gift of everlasting life He provides to all those who put faith in Him. You do not have to place magazines or report Field Service to the WTBTS to have this free gift of life. This does not mean being faithful to a book publishing company that relegates everyone volunteering to increase its profits to a status lower than the hierarchy. Even the other so called 144,000 are in a position that was afforded concubines such as Rizpah in ancient Israel as they have no voice in the day to day activities of the headquarter staff in Brooklyn, New York.

    What if....

You set aside the publications of the WTBTS and read only the Bible and let it interpret itself for you. You may then realise that what the WTBTS has been teaching for many years is not what the Bible actually says. You at least owe it to yourself to compare what the Bible says to what the WTBTS says ans also its record of prophesying events which have failed to be realised.

Looks like they gave up relying on the fluctuating number of partakers at the memorial as well .

Many who had hoped to be among the 'millions'
who would never die have indeed died."
    (The Watchtower, Feb. 15, 1995, p.9)

say this almost looks like an admission of false prophesy .Dates have proven to be nothing but a thorn in their side .Jesus himself says he will delay things until the last of his brothers has run the course to the finish . So even if they had the date for the end of gentile times it wouldn't matter in reguards to christs return to earth as totalitarian ruler .

    AND . . .

    what if

there really ARE only two commandments: love God, love your neighbor -- and that's GOOD ENOUGH.

    How simple.

"They are probably trying to slowly wean them from expecting the "New System" to come soon, and getting them to focus on being faithful and not relying on times and dates"

The problem is that the whole, "the end is imminent" stuff is what gets a JW's blood up. THink about it. If you really don't think that things will end before you die, you will pace yourself in "bearing fruit". If you think it is going to end in a few years, you can forget about any long term plans, and concentrate on only "bearing fruit". You see, no need to pace yourself.

I think gopher may have had something there , knowing the WTBTS as we do it's probly more of a reminder to make your last will and testament to include the WTBTS or find your local life insurance agent in the kingdom hall who will inturn funnel some of his profits to the WTBTS and look presto God is rejoicing in his heaven , wink wink .
