(I think one of the elder's wives leaked it) I thought that was the woman in the crowd?

OK, this is how it is done by JWs, including elders, pioneers, etc:

You can't see a "R" rated movie in the US as a JW. This is a principle (LOL). So wait to watch the movie on TV or rent the CleanFlicks version. So they watch the same "debased" theme without the F-words. Big F-ing deal.

You like modern pop music as a normal youth. But you change the dial when you hear the Beastie Boys because that group has been expressly mentioned in the mags. Don't forget all rap is forbidden.

You are getting married and your future husband is willing to get a vasectomy. Sterilization is a conscience matter. But your parents warn you your fiance will lose his priveldges if he has the operation. You ask an elder about who who was snipped 10 years ago when it acceptable by the WTS. He confirms your parent's statement. You try the pill and gain 20 pounds. Six months later you and hubby sneek an operation 50 miles from home and never tell anyone.

The core of the Org is leading a double life...

If "some christians think it is Ok to...." then it means that those christians have the liberty to express their feelings and be fully accepted as part of the congregation. Which we know is totally false as far as the WT goes.

I think that those mentions of "some christians" are as fabricated as everything else in "questions from readers". That column has the only purpose of allowing the GB to say whatever they want dubs to do, but in a way that seems casual... as if "some christians" had the right to decide. They don't.

After I read CoC I started to hate those "questions from readers".

The reason I bring this up is because I've had 3 bros and sis this week ask me what to do on their new DPA card. They want someone to tell them which boxes to check. Its a symptom of the GB keeping them imature. Now they are even paralyzed on what to do in the event of a so called conscience matter.

Where the Society started to go wrong was to try to draw a line around certain things as NOT being conscience matters. Which is ridiculous. EVERYTHING is a conscience matter

Exactly, Exactly, Exactly. They create dichotomy were none exists

Keep in mind that not everything is a conscience matter. Jude 4 says ? 4 My reason is that certain men have slipped in who have long ago been appointed by the Scriptures to this judgment, ungodly men, turning the undeserved kindness of our God into an excuse for loose conduct and proving false to our only Owner and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Of course, the WTS attempts to override many things that really are conscience matters. FairMind

No everything is a conscience matter. Your conscience either condemns you or commends you for what you do. Now true, there may be a sanction for the decision but, that does not keep it from being a conscience matter.

Im just saying that if a person does not use their conscience to make decisions they can never become mature Christians/person. The WTS overrides the conscience by becoming the conscience, making witnesses some of the most spiritually, emotionally, and mentally immature people in the world. This is evidenced by them needing the WTS to tell them whether its ok to put a sick or dying animal out of its misery, and what box they should check on their blood card.

I truly recommend at this stage that everyone read "In Search of Christain Freedom ' at this stage - it talks a lot about this subject

The "conscience" strikes me as just my own perceptions of right and wrong, reminding me when I start to break the rules that I have set up for myself.

A.A . that is exactly the point. As a dub I had no problem with that, and I fully encouraged those around me to make conscientious decisions for themselves whenever there was not a clear Bible precedent (Or a WT rule, unfortunately)

There is a vast range of human activity that is not regulated. The alternative would be to have dictats on what film to see, what music to listen to , what eat, what to wear etc.All too often the borg wants to take away an individual's right to have a different conscience to another, particularly if one is an elder or M S. .

Incidentally I have seen local dubs with newly issued blank "Blood cards" that are the same as the old ones .does anyone know if the new style is limited to the USA?

Ezekiel, your post made me check up the point about a vasectomy. to my surprise you are Right. I cannot see how or why they would wish to regulate such matters that rightly belong to the couple concerned. I wonder if they would assume any responsibility for the bad advice should an unwanted pregnancy occur? [No, of course not]
