If any "God" had anything to say to anybody wouldn't he just do it?
You mean like becoming a man and doing it Himself?

And why use an ancient book that has been rewriten?? Why not just speak directly to people instead of go-betweens who have been known to be less than honest.
DD,
You mean like becoming a man and doing it Himself?
But why do it and let 2000 years pass. He should keep us up to date and not force a person to beleive an ancient book that has been tampered with.
Building on what garybuss said, wouldn't it make more sense for God to have a book-printing company while the Bible was being written, so that we wouldn't now have thousands of different versions of the text? Why wait to now?

He should keep us up to date...
Why? You don't think God is going to change His mind do you.
and not force a person to beleive an ancient book that has been tampered with.Force? Take it or leave it. I don't think its been that tampered with. (The mormons think it has been, that's why they have a prophet today)
Good idea. God could add to or update the bible every 200 yrs or so. It would stop all this religious scwabbling and arguing. Does god only speak hebrew, aramaic and greek? Heck i know people who speak half a dozen languages.

How about every thousand years or so? Still doesn't prevent any squabbling though!

Interestingly, this was one of the issues of the great apostacy in Bethel in the early 80's that lead to one of the Governing Body being disfellowshipped. Like every doctrinal issue, there is no room for debate as far as the JWs are concerned - just believe what Brooklyn tells you.
