An Australian company installed a secret video camera in a room where female employees stripped off and had heat rashes on their groins treated.
ACI Glass Packaging was fined around £180 at Penrith Local Court after pleading guilty to breaking the Workplace Video Surveillance Act.
The Australian Manufacturing Workers Union brought the case after staff discovered the camera hidden in the ceiling of the New South Wales factory.
Assistant State secretary of the union, Mr John Parkin, said the fine isn't high enough.
He said: "We are extremely disappointed with the outcome. It's not even a slap on the wrist."
More than 300 workers went on strike for two days in December after the camera was found, costing the firm approximately £430,000, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.
They demanded that the company remove the camera immediately and assure them there were no other cameras in the factory.
Mr Parkin said the camera was installed after items were stolen from a nearby room. He said female staff used the room to change at the end of their shifts and workers often stripped off their clothes to have sweat rashes treated.
"Groin rash was the main reason because people are sweating all the time. It's a very hot process making glass," he said.
