What's "OK" in the JW org. today that was "wrong" just a few years ago?

I remember about 15 years ago, most JW's didn't have the cable, but today most of them have the cable. What was wrong or borderline then is OK today.

Give examples of what's "OK" today compared to "Not OK" years ago.

I remember when Beta/VHS first came out...it was considered an avenue to pornography and worse....

Now the WTS produces videotapes...the worse they predicted.

    (1) OK to accept blood fractions as medical treatment

    (2) OK to go to college

    (3) OK to serve on a jury

While these things are now conscience matters many JWs are still negative toward them

I remember when the WT came out and said "...and couples who choose to have a child should not be criticized..."

And thus it was okay to have babies.

A'ight a'ight, I know this was eons ago, but from the 40's thru 60's, wingtips were the rage among all the hipsters of that generation, also the popular Stacy Adams hi-top mens boot, affectionately refered to by us "city slickers " as left hooks, was a standard in the modern man's upscale wardrobe.

These items were regarded as almost taboo to wear for a witness of Jehovah, during the days of old skool, too trendy and unbecoming a Christian.

These items are now pretty much the standard, as they are a timeless, classic dress shoe for men, they are often prefered over the styles that come and go, here today, gone today.

Of course it is ok to have babies now. Baby JW's many times grow up to be adult JW's.

If they didn't allow that, there would be much fewer numbers of witnesses, now and especially the future.

My understanding is they now allow alternative service to military service, something they never would do in the past. I wonder how many of the brothers feel that went to jail for this stance feel.

The idea that "this generation" is not referring to the generation of 1914. Ten years ago, you'd be disfellowshipped for saying you didn't believe this.
