Frankie, actually by letting that go you can know more, that is you can know yourself. We don't have to come up with all kinds of concepts to describe ourselves in order to know ourselves, even less so if we're only concerned with being ourselves. There is a somewhat standardized set of language that is used in certain circles, but that's only meaningful as far as you can relate to the experiences they refer to anyway. To be honest I haven't paid that much close attention to it until recently, and even now it's really a thing I do on my spare time. It's useful for communicating, but I certainly don't think it's necessary to get caught up with it. Don't dismiss yourself just because you might have heard someone else expressing the same thought, I would say it doesn't make yours any more credible either, but do recognize where it's coming from. You might have gotten it from something you read, but then again the author might have just gotten it from the same place you got it from.
